Looking at the title, I thought Noel had stated his opinions on the old eye of bead.

Could these guys be any more boring and pointless? They are an utter embarrassment in every sense.
You can so see the guy on the right so wants to be Liam. It's pathetic, really.

They are the sound of a turd falling into a toilet; out of all of the NME hype bands, they are by far the worst and probably won't even get past the first album hype.

I saw Brother play in toronto at the Horseshoe tavern. They were cool but a bit to poppy "wanna be blur" for me. However. The lead singer is one funny fuckin guy. He's quick with the jokes and poked fun at himself. One girl showed "take it off" referring to his t-shirt. To which he replied. "If I take my shirt off, everyone will leave"...lol.

They are a pair of bellends. Serious wankers that nobody likes. Just be yourself for fucking once and stop trying to act like Liam.

They sound like the faggiest bell ends in the world.
They look like an Oasis cover band.
They act with all the Oasis arrogance but it is obvious they don't believe it themselves like Noel and Liam did.
They're tunes are shit.
They say nothing of interest.
One of them is called Leonard.
They are not the saviours of rock n roll or the band that will bring back Britpop. Shame really because it would be great if a band like that came through but unfortunately Brother are not that.
Shit name for a band as well.

So they think the production of DGSS is amazing, the tunes are good and Liam sounds fantastic, but yet they wouldn't buy the album?
And how did they listen to it in the first place, if they havn't bought it?

What they say about Beady Eye is probably true. The title of the record is kind of shit really; it IS a bit Status Quo. I think it's an okay album but it IS ovetly Lennonesque (much more so than any Oasis output). What do I know though?- I bought it! A lot of people including those Brother guys obviously didn't... And you can hardly blame them for putting their two cents in. If anything, they were probably being diplomatic considering the roasting Liam has given them.
My beef with Brother is that they're indicative of the broader world today (music, film, politics) where being of importance doesn't really mean much else than being an incredibly beige headline grabber; it's more about celebrity and having your 'fifteen minutes' than any kind of delivery of something that really matters. In an instantaneous world of instantly accessible media of all kinds, anyone can be a 'musician'. More than ever, in such a horribly shallow and cynical era, the media are making the news. And you get cocks like the NME building up any old load of toss that in actuality, may be okay but hardly worthy of the praise that is far too easily heaped on it. Liam, for all his bullshit, is actually on the money when he complains that bands simply don't know what being the biggest and the best is these days.
Yes, these Brother guys are gobshites like Oasis but will they be cultural game changers like the Gallaghers? No. They have been born into the wrong era where everything comes too easily, everything is fake, music is a commodity that you can easily rip off for free and you are far too quickly rewarded by a desperate music press for minimal effort.
Yes, Oasis were around at a time when people bought records. But I remember 1994 and it felt fucking good. I don't just put this down to nostalgia; the sheer production line nature of today's popular entertainment is so blatantly shoved in people's faces. In this Gen-Y era music and movie moguls don't even pretend anymore that it's not all a quick buck making business. Gallagher Senior was a great songwriter and blokes like McGee actually liked the music. These Brother guys aren't Noel Gallagher- a deaf mute would agree. They won't play Knebworth and sell 70 million records but they'll wear the Paisley shirt, the t-shade sunglasses and the angular 1997 haircut. And the music papers will love it because fuck, they gotta try and sell the pages somehow. Bad luck boys- fifteen minutes is shorter than ever these days...

There are really many great british indie rock bands around - Brother isn't one of them. The Kooks, the Vaccines, Arctic Monkeys or the View are all so much better...I really don't get all the hype about Brother. BTW, great post thestellasarecold. K+

^It looks like The Vaccines are trying to stay away of too much hype as well
And they are actually worth the hype!
I've seen both Brother & The Vaccines live and I can say I found Brother seriously underwhelming while The Vaccines were amazing! The blew the whole place away! Their was not a second in their set (even though the album wasn't released yet so we didn't know all the songs) that someone wasn't enjoying themselves!

this is a great song..I think Brother are a good band Im excited about them and their debut album That's more Blur, as one user already stated. And it's pretty irritating to listen to. At least Blur weren't as annoying, and actually have some pretty good tunes. Sex Turkey is right, though. Brother are trying for the Oasis persona in their appearance and at a pretty weak attempt with attitude, but falling right on their faces. Noel and Liam never forced anything, they were simply themselves. That's why it worked. Brother are not being true to themselves, and I hate them even more for it. Personally, if The Courteeners couldn't wake up British rock, then Brother have no chance. The former pisses all over the latter. I normally respect the NME and like or can tolerate at least most of their hyped British rock bands, but no dice this time. Simply awful in every sense of the word.

Agreed about The Courteeners NL4E.
How that album didn't sell a shedload I don't know. If that was released in the 90s/early 2000s then it would have been a massive record. There are some proper anthems on there. Sycophant, Take over the World, The Opener and The Good Times are Calling are especially brilliant. If Arctic Monkeys and Oasis had written them they would be absolute classics now.
If anyone else hasn't heard it it's called Falcon. Well worth a listen. Their first album is great as well.

During our Interview with all 4 members I found them to be down to earth , fun guys. Take their statement's with a grain of salt , it's entertainment. They'll be the first to admit it. If you ever do run into them have a beer with them , I'm quite certain you'll enjoy it www.live4ever.uk.com/2011/03/interview-brother-its-our-time-now/

The point is that they are a band WITHOUT the songs and WITHOUT the real attitude needed to get anywhere close to Oasis. They are just another fading hope of having another GREAT band, people jumped on board with the Arctic Monkeys who didn't have an album of songs like Definitely Maybe ... and where are they now? They just could get close to what Oasis did!

Deep down they know that....on the other hand they walked into a LA Label meeting and walked out with a 250k pounds sterling deal, someone had some balls and attitude in that meeting, 99.9% of the other bands don't get signed....

They were asked a question and answered it honestly even though it didn't make sense. My problem is what I detailed in my post above along with the fact that they are criticising Liam for being 'too Lennon' when they are very much 'too Liam'. Very hypocritical.

It's nice to see even gay clubs have their own Oasis cover bands.
