read at your own risk this post is from cns forum ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Oasis have a new drummer called Terry. I dont know his full name. He is ment to be really good. I dont know why they got rid of Alan, but they have done. I got told by someone very close to the band called Carwen, he used to play with proud mary, and has played with oasis a few times, namely Songbird Live (totp, cd:uk...etc) anyway there you go! Im a bit gutted!! I dont suppose anyone will believe me but youll find out yourselves soon enough.

Probably the biggest load of bollocks I'll read this year...might not be, but as Noel has said on more than one occasion, 'Alan's the best drummer I've ever played with'...it'll be a load of old toss!

well this all seems fine with me. they should hire Cast's old insane drummer.
mr White always seemed to lack intensity to me. he's great on the fluttery percussion tracks like wonderwall but much of his drumming (on record) that isn't embellished with, say, NWA drum loops as on d'youknowwhatimean?, seems sort of wimpy.
i think they should hire Animal.

that is a load of toss potting comments. noel is always saying how good alan is on the drums, and watching him play 'my generation' live proves his point.

received this email from Fred Fred always has news from his sources in Europe) ----------- Hi, It isn't official yet but several reports say Alan's decided to leave the band because of tendinitis problems. Rumours are that his brother Steve White, Zak Starkey (Ringo Starr's son, who's playing with Johnny Marr in The Healers) or Proud Mary's drummer (I don't know his name) could replace him. Fred

hmmm the news isn't on nme yet which is weird cause they'd be on it by now.
I'm not gonna believe anything until the band says something themselves cause this could just be a misquote or a rumor.

honestly I like Alan but his drumming isn't sharp like Dave Grohl, Taylor Hawkins, Tommy Lee, and so forth
Too bad Dave Grohl is too busy with two bands. It would rock if became drummer. Dave is fan and talks with the guys.
I know all you British fans will go off on me but if you want someone who spices up Oasis can play better than Alan or Tony. Tommy Lee be a good fit plus he isn't busy at the moment. Consider the man can drum in cage in air going around. One of the best drummers in my opinion

i know shadow would be pleased if tommy lee joined.... although not because of his drumming ability he wouldnt fit the bands image at all though. i dont know what he's like as a drummer but i would be amazed if he ever joined an indie group. dave grohl is a possible but like you say, he has other projects. i think it will either be a prominent session musician like steve white or starkey. Or it will be a relatively unknown indie/rock drummer from another band - kinda the same as andy bell and gem were.

Tommy Lee?!!! Your havin' a larf aint ya? Even if Alan isn't as good a drummer as some of the guys metioned, the point is his drumming sound is the Oasis drum sound. All those wee fills he puts in when you least expect them. Even when his brother who is a fab drummer played with the band, it just didn't sound the same, like when Matt Deighton filled in for Noel, the sound was dead flat. Whitey must stay!!!
