It's actually pretty decent so far (I'm over halfway through), lots of guitars, great drumming, nice bass lines, ...Better than I expected it to be!

I love it after 1 listen. I think Brick By Brick feels out of place and the opener doesn't feel "proper" in terms of being an album opener, but its still a great tune. Other than that, its pretty much terrific. I don't feel there's any immediate classics (for me) like Cornerstone, but its just very strong from top to bottom. No filler. I also prefer the Submarine version of Piledriver Waltz, but thats nitpicking as its fine on the record.
Very impressive record.

The last three songs kind of drag on first listen, but I can see them becoming more appealing over the course of time. First impressions? Pretty fucking great, I like the new vibe of sophisticated pop. Its very glossy sounding, I love the production on it.
As mentioned before, there's no Mardy Bum/Flourescent Adolescent/Cornerstone for this album, which feels odd. Maybe The Hellcat Spangled Shalalala will be eventually.
I also fucking love Library Pictures, though I think I'm the only one who does. Its a faster Pretty Visitors, which is my absolute favorite off of Humbug.

Not sure why Brick By Brick is on this album though, I don't think I'll ever listen to it when I can switch to the brilliant Hellcat.

I'll post my thoughts about this album once I bought it in my local record shop within a couple of weeks.

I'll have to give this album a couple more listens before I hate on it. I'm not going to make the same mistake I committed with Humbug.

It's much more immediate than Humbug.
Still have no idea what Brick by Brick is doing on there. It's irritating and generic.
Hellcat, Black Treacle, Stunts, and Piledriver are good tunes.
EDIT: I just noticed that their sound has become less and less hollow as the albums have gone by. I like that. I like their sound now more than what it was on their first album.

This is definitely the love child of Humbug & FWN, but that makes it a really good record.
Couple of tunes may take some time but 3/4 of the album hit me straight away, Hellcat is way above the rest for me and All My Own Stunts is a really nice tune too (the sound of the guitars remind me of Wind Up Dream). A proper pop/rock record.

I also really enjoy the "live" sound of this record. I laughed at the beginning of Library Pictures where Alex says, "I'm wearing a vest" lol. The only song that brings back memories from their debut is That's Where You're Wrong. But as said above, this is the child of FWN and Humbug.

so much better than Humbug. Not saying that record was terrible I just never really found myself going back to it that often. This album is them maturing but still sounding young and fresh. Stand outs: The Hellcat Spangled Shalalala, That's Where You're Wrong, Piledriver Waltz.

I also fucking love Library Pictures, though I think I'm the only one who does. Its a faster Pretty Visitors, which is my absolute favorite off of Humbug. I love it too and should have been the lead track, but if i had the control then i would have changed the tracklist and it would have been a lot different.

Or maybe he's just having some fun? Nah, can't be. Relax, I'm hardly serious. I already explained that I like the album, have a look, it's up there.
