The day BEU says anything worth reading will be the day I sprout a ginger afro! Get to the fuckin' barbers then, 'cause your hair needs a fuckin' chop!

A few months before DOYS. Right on. I thought it was of him in LA this time around. I was wondering how he managed to look 5yrs younger

Why would Marcus Russell divulge all this to a stranger? Surely you see why we don't believe you. Why did Gem tell a stranger on the streat that the album title was Dig Out Your Soul ages before anyone else knew? These things do happen you know. And its not like he's given it all away, it really just a small bit of info.

makes perfect sense to me to wait untill the beady eye storm is over. The album still needs finishing anyway. But i have no desire to defend my 'story' Proof is on its way from official channels I would hardly call the reception of Beady Eye a storm... I think the chances of management leaking information about a hush hush project AND spreading doubt about commercial success the a stranger on the street is pretty slim. Gem may have leaked something...but he's one of the artists. Doubt Marcus would have told a stranger the title of DOYS...and if he had Oasis probably would have been pisses.

It seems too much of a coincidence that he happened to bump into him - its a big place and of all the people, etc.
I know what Marcus Russell looks like and would recognise photos of him, but he wouldn't even enter my head if I was walking down the street in LA and saw a stranger. He's not significant enough.
I did actually bump into one of Oasis' security men in Manchester before the COMS gig in 2005 (he was wearing an official pass and we were down for the gig so it wasn't much of a coincidence). He told us the usual "They're wild, Liam kicked off last week because his toast was burnt" shite but wouldn't tell us anything remotely interesting, nevermind album details.

This is probably BS but isn't as far fetched as people are making out. Presumably Marcus would be negotiating with an American label so a 2012 release wouldn't mean that the album couldn't come out in the UK in 2011 (happens for lots of bands) DGSS was released by a tiny independent in America - maybe Noel is holding out for a bigger label and the promotional clout they can provide? The majors probably consider that solo Noel would/could be a much less bankable product stateside than Oasis and they hardly set the US alight with sales of DOYS so maybe that's where the "wasn't easy convincing the marketing people of the album's commercial potential" thing comes from?

Hopefully Noel gets a better label in the states than BDI. You can't even find the Beady Eye record in the States where I live.

It doesn't even matter about the sales, because they weren't going to beat the full force of the juggernaut behind the trashy bubble-gum pop music industry, were they? It was a brave move to go behind the record label they did, rather than going behind Universal, for example, and I think it paid off.

...paid off how, exactly? They showed their integrity and bravery. And, as a result, they released a fantastic record.

I think you're overanalyzing this. I've met Marcus on a few occasions and he's definitely a talkative guy. I would not be surprised whatsoever if he shared things of that nature depending on the context of the conversation. I agree about Beady Eye and the so-called storm. It's been a drizzle. I dont think Beady Eye has any bearing at all on what Noel does at this point. Its more from the managerial/business perspective in that regard. As per the original quote, "the album still needs finishing" seems like a misnomer in its wording considering where Noel has been rumored to be at in the recording process. Jon Graboff's participation clearly points to overdubbing, with mastering being the next logical and likely step once that is complete provided that Noel doesn't have any last second additions to record. If there is anything left to do, its likely minimal. My guess is by mid-June at the latest we'll know what Noel is up to officially. We could even have a song by then if the Beady Eye model can be followed.
