I get the feeling that some of you guys think that Noel’s album is going to usher in a new Rock ’N’ Roll epoch. I don’t know what I want from this new record. One or two solid hits would be nice imo. Night follows day, and disappointment follows hype innit? I’m just not getting my hopes up yet.
If Noel’s album is as good as DOYS I’ll be happy. Is that good enough for you people?

It has to have better songs than the Noel-written ones on DOYS for me to do the trick.. Especially since he doesn't have Liams voice to make not so good songs (Bag It Up, The Turning) better anymore..

I get what you're saying foxysally but that means his album would have to very fucking good. We're talking stuff like DBTT or - dare I say it- DM.

Noel has never disappointed me before. Seriously.
I'm sure whatever he comes out with I'll love. He'll have to do away with his signature songwriting style and everything that made him successful for me to not like it.

Noel's tunes on both DBTT and DOYS were the best he's ever done in terms of being complete on a record and not having any duds. Falling Down and Part of the Queue are easily the most forward looking tracks he's ever recorded and if his record is anything like those or with that kind of forethought, it should be fantastic.

I think it will be so different from Oasis records that we won't know how to compare them. If the songs are to be identical to Oasis' tunes, then why the hell he wanted to make a solo album while in Oasis days?
He wants to try something new. That's why I don't think we can use his past songs as references.

If the songs sound anything like the acoustic demos from the DOYS soundchecks, I'll be more than pleased.

I'm not expecting an album that's better than DM or MG either. As long I can enjoy listening to it it's fine - I love DGSS as well, and it sure isn't that great. And knowing Noel, I don't think we will be let down.

How about 12 tracks which sound just like Get Off Your High Horse?

How about 12 tracks which sound just like Get Off Your High Horse? Theres not going to be a dozen songs that sound exactly like another, so I dont know what your point was with this post.

Yeah, well, some might say that sunshine follows thunder. I'm telling this to captaincrunch because he apparently cannot shine.

i agree that he doesn't have the voice to make up for the quality of the tunes the way say, Liam does but... he's still my all time favorite songwriter so he could pull a hat out of the bag and come up with something pretty damn good(i hope). from my part tho, there isn't much hype tbh.... i think the album could potentially be very VERY good but i don't expect a masterpiece. Noel's output in the last couple of album just weren't up to par with his early work so... and no, i don't think Falling Down is a classic. i guess to each his own but i just don't like that song all that much. I can appreciate a song like TIOBI, i like it, i sing it, i listen to it(not that often), but it's not in the same league as a song like RnRS or Slide Away.

I think Stop the Clocks is a far better song than Rock n Roll Star or Slide Away. I prefer Noel's later work as a songwriter to his earlier work.

I think Stop the Clocks is a far better song than Rock n Roll Star or Slide Away. This is because you are an idiot and paid for Stop The Clocks. You're also backtracking as you've stated numerous times over the last 3 years that you didn't think Stop The Clocks was worth the hype.

Pete Bones why do you have to respond with your hateful spite to every post I make? Still angry that the Mafia Board failed?
And don't misquote me. I said the legend and hype of STC is better than the song itself. And I stand by that. But it is still one of my favorite songs and you or anybody else can't change that.

I just prefer Noel's later work. Everyone has their own taste. My 5 favorite Oasis songs ever are 1-Sunday Morning Call, 2- You've Got the Heart of a Star, 3- Stop the Clocks, 4-Little By Little, 5-She Is Love. How about you?

What about your five favorite Liam-sung songs? Let There Be Love would be my #1, if I could count it. Assuming I can't, then... 1- Who Feels Love, 2-Gas Panic, 3- Stop Crying Your Heart Out, 4- Stand By Me, 5- Don't Go Away.
