I'm embarrassed for asking this because I should know it and in the end 'who cares', but figured I would try to answer my curiosity.
Who is doing the backing vocals on Across the Universe? It's hard to tell if it's Gem or Andy.
On Wigwam, at 3:38, 4:38, 5:34. and 5:38 there is someone shouting something like 'You keep coming up' (it's one of the many layers of sounds going on in the outro). I used to think it was Gem but now thinking it's Liam. Does anyone have an idea on that one? I actually really like that part of the song.
Thanks

I don't know for certain either, but the same happened to me with Wigwam. I love those bits, and used to think it was Gem shouting but now I think it must be Liam, since he did it in the live version at the TCT the other day.
Regarding Across The Universe, I don't really know. My guess would be it's both, Andy and Gem doing backup at parts.
And never be embarassed to ask anything ;D

Finally a serious thread! On Across the Universe I always thought it was Andy. Just checked some vids on Youtube and it seems that indeed only Andy is doing the backups on that song.. For Wigwam I don't know.. Sound like either Liam or Gem to me.

Its hard to make out on the record, it is on a lot of tracks. I really like Andy's voice I must say though, sounds different from when he sang in the 90's with Ride.
