He's not growing it...but he is getting a fake beard.
He's getting a chin wig because Sara wants him to have a beard for the wedding but Noel hates to way a beard itches.
This is their happy compromise.

Didn't Noel grow one in 2002 to hide the bruises on his face from the taxi accident in Indianapolis? I think that is why he grew one
