Noel said previously he would like to write the song for a James Bond movie. The (pre)production of James Bond 23 began. Do you think they are going to ask him ? Do you think he is going to make it ? now or later ?

I think if they wanted a Noel song, then they would've taken Freaky Teeth. I don't think they'll approach him. Plus lately the Bond theme has been handled by a younger more popular act.
So no, I do not expect Noel to get a call from the Bond people

if they never asked Oasis i doubt they'll ask an aging (new) solo artist like Noel but hey, anything is possible.... i guess.

noel doing the next bond song is about as likely as john barry scoring the next bond film.

They asked Chris Cornell for Casino Royale. I don't think Cornell is such a huge name. At least Noel is a well-known british and he publicly said he wanted to do it.

Doubt it. It'd be nice though.

The idea that they ask young popular artists is rubbish. Chris Cornell, not young. Macca back in the 80's, not particularly you either. At the same time, trying to speculate the rational of movie execs is near impossible. It would be a nice plug for Noel though if he did get the invite.

He should be offered it and hey, it's not completely unlikely as his mate Daniel Craig could put in a good word for him. It would be awesome - Chris Cornell and Jack White have been around for a while, so age wouldn't be a matter. And besides, it couldn't be any worse than that Jack White and Alicia Keys song.

At least Noel is a well-known british and he publicly said he wanted to do it. being british doesn't matter, because of a few things: america is a bigger market than the uk, for one. (it's always about the money.) also, the broccoli family (who owns the rights to the bond film series) is american. same goes with mgm & columbia, the co-distributors of the series. i'd also argue that cornell is a more well known name worldwide than noel. not knocking noel, but cornell has been the frontman of two extremely popular bands.

Now that he is a solo artist then they might as well ask him to do so.

Madonna (die another day) is as far from young as you can get in the current pop music scene. lol

McCartney would have been 31.

And a lot of british peoplle did the musical theme for James Bond ( he is british, who cares about the producer ?) never discount the producer. why? because it's all about the money. it hasn't been about the art or the quality of the series for a while. if it had, then we wouldn't have had such pieces of crap as "moonraker," "die another day" or "a view to a kill." if they cared about the englishness of the bond series, they wouldn't have hired a scotsman (connery), an australian (lazenby), or an irishman (brosnan) as bond. not to mention james brolin, an american, being very close to landing the role in the early 80s when roger moore was considering quitting. (this is one of his screen tests.)if they wanted british artists doing the bond theme songs, they wouldn't have had nancy sinatra, louis armstrong, carly simon, rita coolidge, a-ha, gladys knight, tina turner, sheryl crow, garbage, madonna, chris cornell, jack white or alicia keys doing them.

Wouldn't be surprised if David Arnold actually asked Noel. Arnold was a guest at our uni a few years back and really made clear how much he hated that shitty Madonna track, along with the awful Jack White & Alicia Keys one. I think for every Bond film he presents his own ideas for the films main titles but quite often the producers go over his head and decide to use really poor tracks by other artists (hence Madonna, Sheryl Crow and JW & Alicia Keys)... Jack White should never be allowed on a mixing desk.. ever!, his production on the last Bond song was fucking DIRE!...
Be great if Noel did it, I'm sure Arnold would be keen as well, but of course its all down to the producers...
If not Noel then they really REALLY should get Adele to do it, really think she'd suit it really well...
