I am not very keen to SP but the good thing about then is that they only released one album and it is fucking great.

It's a ridiculous and stupid to say that the Sex Pistols couldn't play their instruments. Steve Jones was a great rhythm guitarist and Lydon proved his musical worth with PiL. The only worthless member was Sid Vicious. The fact that people glorify him to this day is disgusting.

Sid Vicious aside, the thing about them being poor musicians is a myth perpetuated to fit in with the spirit of punk. "We only knew two chords, but that didn't matter!" etc. Steve Jones is known for being a spot-on rhythm guitarist. This sort of discussion is so clichéd these days that you can't really talk about it without sounding like a broken record though. Punk has been analysed to death.
