www.clashmusic.com/news/noel-gallagher-working-on-hip-hop-albumNoel Gallagher could be set to shock fans, with reports suggesting he is working on hip hop material. Leaving Oasis behind in 2009, Noel Gallagher left fans guessing what his next move could be. With his younger brother completing an album with Beady Eye, all eyes are on the iconic guitarist. Currently working in Los Angeles, it seems that Noel Gallagher could be set to throw fans a curveball. Reports in the United States suggest that the songwriter is to put down his guitar on a new hip hop flavoured release. It seems that Noel Gallagher is working on a rap concept album, focussing on his days growing up in the Manchester ghetto of Burnage. Topics are thought to include having his lunch money stole and being teased about his enormous uni-brow. Re-naming himself 'Noely G' the songwriter has been working with a number of guests. Taking inspiration from the mid 90s G-Funk scene, the one time Oasis mainman has recruited Warren G to spit a few rhymes. News is thin on the ground, however it is thought that the album will hark back to Gallagher's roots as a B-Boy. Stealing his mum's lino, the young Noel would enjoy the respect of Burnage street crews by throwing a few fly moves in his sedate cul-de-sac. No material has emerged as yet, although one track is thought to contain a diss of Jay-Z. Planning to ignite a rap war, Noely G and his homies aim to kickstart the whole East Coast / West Coast row which worked so well the first time round. Liam Gallagher has so far refused to comment. The news follows on from Charlie Sheen's revelation that 'the Warlock' - as he terms himself - is working on material with Snoop Dogg. If you people believe that then you'll believe anything... ;D

Haha...the thing is Noel *could* do a rock-flavored hip hop album, kind-of like The Roots do, and it would probably be pretty cool. The only thing is Noel would have to get someone else to do the rapping.

I would, without a second thought, cut off my ears if Noel ever stooped so low

I could go for a Noel and Dre collaboration to be honest i didn't like dr. dre's most recent singles. i hope detox is better than what he's released so far, but it's pretty hard to top the chronic and 2001. those are two of the best hip-hop albums ever.

I don't mind I Need A Doctor to be honest, although I think Eminem is contributing way to much on the song, even as far as overshadowing Dre. Which is a damn shame of course. Kush I honestly didn't care for very much. Never did like that Akon feller. So yeah, I also hope Detox will be better compared to the tracks we've hear so far

I would, without a second thought, cut off my ears if Noel ever stooped so low Listen to Gas Panic without any vocals...with some minor tweaks it could almost work as a backing track for a hip hop song.

I love A Tribe Called Quest. Very chilled out vibes, great beats and terrific rhymes. A Noel/Q-Tip collaboration would be interesting. I'm open for Noel to try different things on this solo album. Love me some Tribe.

Out of all the Oasis related April fools that we've had, this is my favourite by far.
