I thought I'd fit this in here as well: So where to start! Info is Noel is in LA, but you all knew that anyway! Reason why he is there!! Now that is another interesting story. He is definitely working with Amorphous Androgynous, has been since last year. The album was finished then too, but the interesting part is why he is still doing it! His "people" ie Ignition/Marcus Russell have not liked any of the material he has done with AA. They have convinced him to do rein it in and release something more commercial! Hence why he is in LA to theoretically get away from his management. He is in the studio with them and Sardy and basically remixing and doing overdubs for it. The album was complete a while ago, so much so I know for a fact there are 2 albums worth of material now!!! (but again thats old news!) I was also the guy that broke the news about him working with The Sand Band from Liverpool! Which is also true and they will eventually become his touring band! (you will just have to watch this space on that one) I can't obviously convince all of you, but my sources are good and to clear it up, I am not affiliated with Noel and his management, well not really! Anyway, that's all you are getting from me! Look forward to the backlash!

Ugh, here's hoping Noel doesn't cave in. Make some more commercial? Fuck off, he fucking wrote one of the biggest albums of all time! Let the man do what he fucking wants, make it a weird and mental record!

Let the man do what he fucking wants, make it a weird and mental record! I could not agree any more with this. Only problem is that in 2011, "artists" have less and less control over the final product that goes in the shops. It's usually the reason why the guys with artistic integrity, no matter how talented they may be, end up getting shafted and ultimately remain unknown. They don't care what Noel has/hasn't already done, what counts is that he's famous and popular, therefore he holds influence over his fans. It's all about what he will do from here on in that matters to the suits. Will Noel play ball? Question of the year.

Apparently Mike Moore of The Hours was in the studio with Noel.
It's from sourmashmusic though...so...I don't know. But it's worth adding to the list.

The Zutons rumour has been denied! Dave McCabe told me this himself! @davezuton: sourmashmusic am sorry but you seem like your after a story or something i dont know noel or liam gallagher? Amorphous Androgynous has definitely been confirmed, one of the members mentions it in an interview a few months back! Dave Sardy is definitely on board and I know Mike Moore from The Hours is heavily involved. the Sand Band will be Noel's Touring band! I know David McDonnell was working on some songs with Noel, but sadly I may have ruined that for him when I posted the story and told NME about it! They had to phone ignition and they had to phone Noel! The chief was pissed off, so I am told by a member of the band, so blame me for that one! We won't talk about the tracklisting though

Wait, your only confirmation of AA working on Noel's album was from that interview that we all read several months ago? I thought you had insider information??

No I am using that as a confirmation for you guys, as you don't believe I have a source! But I did get that info from my source in the studio.

I believe that you have a source, but you're shit at trying to get some confirmation or proof. One source does not automatically mean its true. I've said this at nausea, so I'll take a break now. It hurts my head too much to keep explaining it.

'Cause I will try to update the original post with all rumours / confirmations, but I'm not going to sift through 20 pages of bushit to do so..

OK so I just bought the last Qmagazine (at least the last one they have here in Sweden, it's the one with Alex Turner on the cover) and it says something about Noels solo album: 'Q previously reported that Noel Gallagher's solo album may already have been recorded. However, even close friends and family have yet to get a sneak preview. In december he visited Paul Weller, but "accidentally" failed to bring with him a CD of his new tracks. Eldest Gallagher brother Paul has also been kept in the dark, though he has revealed Noel plans to mix the album in summer.'Thought that was interesting enough to mention on here Also, if he's mixing it in summer that would mean it will come out later than we are expecting it to come out right now..

Interesting, thanks. The timeline is all mixed up. Everyone is guessing. Many still think that he was mixing in LA. Especially with the report of a video being shot. Still think we're looking at DOYS like timeline.

Further solidifies my belief that Noel is just happy taking his old sweet time. This must all be just a hobby to him at this point.

Let the man do what he fucking wants, make it a weird and mental record! Only problem is that in 2011, "artists" have less and less control over the final product that goes in the shops. It's all about what he will do from here on in that matters to the suits. Will Noel play ball? Question of the year. This is not true. Can you give some examples of "guys with artistic integrity, no matter how talented, end up getting shafted and remain unknown" in this day and age? The true fact is, that in 2011, if someone is that talented, its a lot easier to get known simply because of the infiltration of the internet. Do you think someone like Sufjan Stevens or Bon Iver would've gotten any sort of notice back in the 90s? Shops matter even less. Digital infiltration is considered as important, if not more important, than hard copy. Digital infiltration is also more flexible with the amount of ways that it can be promoted. Noel has the money to self-produce and self-promote this album entirely on his own if he wants to without even putting the slightest scratch to his bank account. He won't be signed to a "traditional" record contract where he has to record X amount of albums in X amount of years. The only thing he needs is intl distribution, which a number of labels would be happy to do without even hearing a note. What you said is true in certain ways, but it only goes to artists that are completely unknown and going into their first forays with a major label. Acts that don't have a commercial track record. It doesnt matter that this is Noel's first solo effort. The UK market knows Noel and what he's accomplished and his success there with Oasis gives him about a 1000 mile headstart over an unknown. The UK market comes first for Noel, everything else is secondary. The question to Noel is what kind of success he wants to go for. He can still maintain his own artistic integrity/vision doing whatever the fuck he wants to successfully without placating a fossil in a suit.
