5th April 1994, Kurt Cobain committed suicide by shooting himself in the head at his home in Seattle. Cobain’s body wasn’t discovered until April 8, by an electrician who had arrived to install a security system, who initially believed that Cobain was asleep, until he saw the shotgun pointing at his chin. A suicide note was found. From www.thisdayinmusic.com

As if the electrician didn't spot the blood everywhere and brains splattered up the wall.

i respectfully disagree, but to each his/her own. nirvana's biggest problem is overexposure, i think.

i respectfully disagree, but to each his/her own. nirvana's biggest problem is overexposure, i think. I would totally agree. Nirvana gets hurt because everyone says that they're the greatest ever. The brand has been so over exposed and so over hyped that anything less than perfection is seen as let down when music fans listen to them.

It's ironic that he killed himself because he didn't want his music to be part of the corporate machine, etc. but that's exactly what has happened over the years. I think Nirvana are overrated (though more specifically Nevermind is overrated and over-produced), but Live at Reading is still one of the most scathing and glorious records I've ever heard. RIP
