And when the years passed by the b-sides count went down but quality was there... My fave from this era was Thank You For the good times and Heart of a star was the second close one.

Idlers dream, sent shivers down my spine the first time I heard that! So simple and beautiful. This could've been a hit if he worked it out properly!! Or maybe it's the strange structure of this song what makes is so beautiful...

Voted for Shout It Out Loud - was torn between that and Idlers Dream.
All those b-sides are better than the majority of Heathen Chemistry.

Never been able to just pinpoint just one track as my favourite out of these ones. Most hardest choice for me. In the end, I choose Just Gettin Older because, pruely because, it was the first one from these b-sides that really stuck with me

Idler's Dream easily for me. What in the holy hell do people enjoy about TYFTGT? There's something about crappily mediocre Andy Bell songs that people are drawn to. I don't get it. What's the deal with that?

^ Have you heard some pre oasis Andy's tracks??? Hear Nowhere from Ride and you will be blown away(and you might hear a coldplay future rip off )

I'll take a listen, but that doesn't answer my question. I'm not taking a swipe at Andy. He's written some decent songs, but TYFTGT and Millionaire just sound terribly boring and ordinary to me and some people think they're amazing. I get that we all have different tastes and such, but I don't hear things in these songs that I think "i can see why people would like this, but its not my cup of tea". They're just straight up bland.

I belive that Good times has an vibe that reminds somehow Heroes by David Bowie and oasis' own Some Might Say, it wasnt the greatest thing ever wrote(two of the reasons why it ended up as a b-side). Remember that they were at their lowest and it was a way to say: We wont give up... unless we arent feeling it.

Thank You For The Good Times.
Does anyone notice it sounds alot like Heroes by David Bowie. The intro that is.

You people are ridiculous! Thank You For The Good Times is absolute RUBBISH. Slate an album that is Oasis-by-numbers yet rate a song that is No-Way-Sis by numbers. Sense?
Anyway, Idler's Dream is pretty great, My Generation is better than the original, Shout It Out Loud and Just Getting Older are Noel at his grumpy old bastard finest, and Heart of A Star has a nice melody.

Ah, sorry...it's hard to see bold on my PC. Is it the My Generation comment? Dunno, it's pretty obvious Liam destroys Daltrey on that one.

perhaps vocal-wise but Ox & Moon decimate Bell & Whitey, while Petes a talented guitarist theres not much lead in My Generation. Stil The Who win everytime. It is good cover. The only Oasis cover better than the original has to be Cum On Feel The Noize

Fair enough.
And agreed about Cum On Feel The Noize. They own that song.

Idlers Dream, it's one of the most touching songs Noel ever wrote imho... It's so pure and simple. Was really amazed when I first heard it. I also like all the others though, Just getting older in praticular! Too bad Noel was too lazy to put out decent b-sides during the DBTT and DOYS era.. =S

Just Getting Older... it's epic
Can't see why Idlers Dream is so darn popular though. I can hear it builds up to reach a moment of greatness... but still, noel didn't manage to reach that top in this song, only building up to it, which for me ruined it. IMO, you can easily hear why it stayed a b-side.
