Basically im at the very end stages of a long long project. Its been in the works for about 4 years but im wondering if there would be any interest in ciruclating it.
Im a huge fan of Britpop. I really listen to little else still and have spend years gathering together old footage, VHS Rips and the internet to get enought to make a DVD Boxset of Britpop Videos and 90's stuff for myself.
So im on the verge of having 4 DVD's which include the following per DVD
40 Britpop Videos
2 Band Features
2 90's TV Features
1 Goals of the 90's (Premiership montages)
1 TFI Friday Interview
This is a complete fans only set, and ive done other work before ie Top of the Britpops which is available online. These DVD's were just for me and some friends but if anyone else is interested then let me know.

You should put a section about Euro 96 and "Football's Coming Home" that was part of the summer of Britpop.
The return of the Beatles with Free As A Bird in late 95 also felt like part of the Britpop era.
Jarvis stage invading Michael Jackson's Brit performance, Oasis' hilarously insulting acceptance speeches and, of course, Knebworth are also worth covering.
Trainspotting (the film) and Irvine Welsh was also a big part of Britpop culture.
So was The Spice Girls, The Chemical Brothers and The Prodigy.

My blueprint had British films which included Trainspotting and i did a 5 minute edit of the film picking out the best bits, but it was all getting a bit long for the DVD's so i decided to scrap the film idea, at the end of the day i had to limit it and didnt want to loose quality by squeezing in more by reducing the quality of the videos. Funny you should mention Euro 96, DVD 4 has got 10 minutes of Euro 96 footage including all England goals plus others...... I do have a 15 minute Knebworth special from the O-Zone but again i had to leave it out as i just didnt have the room to put it in, but i do have a 10 minute Oasis feature backstage at Earls Court and one of the Oasis songs on the DVD's is live @ Knebworth. I have never put anyting on as a Torrent so i might leave that to someone else. Was thinking of just post discs out OLD SCHOOL !!! ha! I have covers etc done aswell, but i will probably leave it to one of you lot to put them up as torrents for everyone to grab!! Will keep you all posted. |
