hello all
just got back from the beady eye gig at brussels
they dropped 'for anyone' and played 'two of a kind' instead
which i kinda liked, coz im not that keen on for anyone, second rate songbird in my opinion..
overall i thought the gig was pretty good. Highlights four letter word, the roller, man of misery, the beat goes on and sons of the stage.

TOAK is their worst tune on record so far IMO. Did it sound any better live...or was it still immeasurably blah?

it is true
i liked it, i think it's a nice little rocker, already enough slow songs in the set so i think it's a good change.
my friend thought 'two of a kind' was boring though..

Most of the tunes sounded better live so hopefully this one does as well.

i read on the other thread he's having the flu
could well be the reason for dropping a song like for anyone, which is in the higher range..
he said something beforre they played two of a kind but i didnt understand it

thanks for the link, it sounds mega live, but they should have added to the setlist instead of replacing For Anyone

Back from Brussels gig, was on the front row, absolute madness!!  Still confused about the setlist change: I'm kinda proud that I witnessed the first live performance ever of "two of a kind", but on the other hand I don't really like that tune, even though it sounded more than okay live. And I kinda hated they'd dropped "For Anyone" =( But really, if you're going to see them, make sure you're in front, it's complete chaos over there, and you get to have eye contact with Liam Gallagher  |

Someone should rip the video and produce a DVD of this gig. It's a little weird from that angle, but great quality overall.

Pretty sure they dropped For Anyone because of 'the flu", but they could perfectly add TOAK to the setlist from now on! They should! And also, I want to hear TWOMR live!!! |

Fantastic version of a good song. For Anyone is miles ahead of Two Of A Kind in terms of quality, but I'm actually well pleased for this change, as they never did For Anyone justice live. Even if Liam had a good day (Which he seems to always have these days). I also thinks Two Of A Kind fits the whole live scenario better than For Anyone. Agreed with lots of the other posters in this thread though: Here's hoping they will do World Outside My Room and Wigwam live at some point |

So guess I'm the second one on this thread to not like For Anyone? It isn't anything amazing imo, and Songbird is miles better when it's much simpler than the former. I just couldn't feel the beauty that made the latter so great. I actually think TOAK is a decent, sweet song and a bit better than FA.

Liam sounds amazing. I really like TOAK, don't understand why many dislike it so much, and it sounds mega live. Of course For Anyone is hard to do live, so I'm not surprised it was the song that had to go. It would be cool if they changed their playlist a few more times - maybe WOMR or with both FA and TOAK. |
