$37.50 = ~£23 Cheaper than in UK, and considering they're flying over and all... (and £20 for a new act who is expected to pull 1000-2000 people audience is not that rare price in London at least) How much you gotta pay all sorts of fees in US? (here it's like £2-4 box office fees and £3-6 shipping usually) What sort of ticket prices other UK bands playing in US have? It depends on the notoriety of the act. Arctic Monkeys are playing Rumsey Playfield and were cheaper than BDI, but the difference was negligible. Ashcroft tonight in a similar venue to Beady Eye were $25. Radiohead are typically in the $40-$50 range depending on venue. Surcharges vary. Id say normal for a well known act is about $5-$7, but is much less depending on venue. If it was Oasis, Id have no gripe. And while Beady Eye aren't new as say a debuting act, they're still new considering they're not going to be playing a long set. Its a minor quibble really, but I think its a bit fleecing. I also don't think comparing UK prices to the US is really fair since the pound is worth nominally more than the dollar.

Could the price be determined mostly by the fee Beady Eye are demanding?

A bit off-topic but maybe someone can enlighten me on this thing that has been boggling my mind for quite some time.
I know there's people in USA who happily travel across the country or over to Europe to see their fave UK band play live. However there always seems to be a good deal of people saying things like "Why they play NY and not Boston, I wanted to go". Isn't that less than 400km(dunno in miles)? Basically people often seem to complain distances from 200km to 600km are already too much travelling to do. I even saw someone saying going to NY from Philadelphia was too long way to go. I know not everyone has any spare money for travelling, but purely statistically I don't think the amount of poor people equals the amount of complainers. Is the concept of distance somehow maybe cultural thing? That 400km is basically "out of reach".
Of course people in UK complain "why they play Manchester but not Leeds" etc. But I guess the mainpoint here being UK bands that come to USA and aren't as big over there as in UK. And I'd like to stress this isn't any sort of dig at Americans but something that I've really wondered.

I willing to go anywhere if I have the means to do it, but most people don't feel the same way. PS.. New York to Philly is 2 hours & 100 miles...totally lame if you think thats long

New York to Philly is 2 hours & 100 miles...totally lame if you think thats long But it also sucks when they play nothing on the opposite side of the US. It's a REALLY expensive ticket for those of us on the west coast to fly out to catch any of the east coast/midwest shows. Just an example, but it'd be almost $400+ for me to fly from Portland, OR to Chicago. PLUS the $50 or whatever they're charging for tickets PLUS boarding (which is probably at least another $60-100) , etc etc. So I'd be looking at close to $600 just to go to one show. And that's quite a lot to spend just to see one show. Trust me, I'd love to do it, but that's just a bit much for me to spend on them. However, I'm totally willing to travel to Los Angeles or San Francisco or Seattle to see them whenever they get up off their asses and decide to come out to the west coast.. But going across country right now is just super expensive for a lot of people. Amurrica is a big country

But going across country right now is just super expensive for a lot of people. Amurrica is a big country Yeah, I totally understand that:) I didn't mean travelling across the whole country but like I said... something like 200-600km. Some 2-5h car drive away. That one whining about no Philadelphia show and couldn't bother to go to NY was the biggest wtf. In my home country if a band actually bothers to come over they play in the capital which is on southern coast, and basically next "big" cities(200'000 people or less, you can see why no world class bands usually play elsewhere but capital) are at least 200km away.

I'm cool with traveling. I'm going up from Boston to NYC for LCD Soundsystem this Saturday, I was gonna do the same for The Strokes but I couldn't get floor tickets. If the show/band is worth it, I'll go. I flew from Hawaii to Chicago for Lollapalooza last year! Worth every single penny. I can see why people wouldn't want to fly, but when you can get a round-trip ticket from Boston to NYC for as low as $2.50, then I just don't get it. Check Megabus early and often people!

Anyone have any idea what the camera policy will be for this gig? I'd like to bring a decent little digital camera along to take some video and/or photos.
