That's why the majority of those players went on to win titles in other places. Its not just the Bulls, look at any great team. And team dynamics do matter. Great players don't automatically make other players great: ask Iverson, Stockton/Malone, Wilt Chaberlain, Barkley, Jerry West, Gary Payton. I could go on and on with great HOF players who either don't have rings, or barely have any. There's a reason. Its because their teams weren't good enough. I could keep arguing till I'm blue in the face, and bring up everything in NBA history that proves what I'm saying. You can choose to believe it or not. All it takes is looking at past NBA champions. History is the only proof that I need. i'll bet my life's savings the Heat win at least two championships the next five years. There's something were in agreement with. They'll win 2. No more, no less. Try looking up Chamberlain/Elgin Baylor/Jerry West, they equal 1 title. And they played together to get that 1. Everyone thought that they would get more than 1. Easily as some said. Malone/Stockton vs. Pippen/Jordan: taking NBA titles out of it. Im terms of talent. Probably equal (especially if want to call Pippen only good.) Chamberlain/Baylor/West vs. Russell. Equally talented. If not more. In each match up, something separated them. And it was team dynamics. One went on to win multiple titles, the other didn't. And I don't call watching ESPN, knowing sports history. ESPN (unless it's a lot ESPN classic) deals in the here and now and is too much: prisoner of the moment (in the words of Skip Bayless). Anyone who just naturally believes that it's as easy as getting two guys who can play, and you'll win 3-5 titles, needs to be checked out. Guys get injured, great players emerge, shit happens. No one can predict the future. I mean really, who would have had the Mavs winning this year. Sports are too up in the air to say that someone will win multiple championships. Oh yeah, K + for calling me nuts. I literally started laughing.

Pippen was great because of Jordan. Jordan was so good. i luckily got to age while he was playing in his prime. i'm really not sure he's human.
i really do watch that much espn, Skip Bayless is great, kind of a dick but know's what he's talking about. i like Chris Broussard for NBA related topics, he actually talks to players and knows the ends and outs of the outs and ends.
i really should be a betting a person but i'm not. come on, i predicted the Super Bowl within a few points and nearly had the NBA winner sans a defunct Lebron James. honestly, what.the.fuck? i think Lebron was paid off, but not really he doesn't need the money.

But just as much as Bayless has vendettas, Broussard loves him way too much Lebron. He's picking the man to win the title for like the past 5-6 years. ESPN is great for the here and now, but I think it is too much a prisoner of the moment. I like Wilbon/Korneiser of PTI, look to the past a lot. And don't start making this overly done predictions, and don't overreact too much. They've seen it all, and are good at historical comparisons.

Sometimes though, I think that ESPN purposely gets retarded people to debate him. It's always Rob Parker or the Two Stews.

I was waiting to see if someone else would resurrect this thread, but I suppose it's up to me.
We're only 5-6 games in, but what's the feeling on the new season?
Heat look pretty good. Mavs look a little rusty. Lakers look like a .500 team. Chicago should be pretty strong.
I'm going to guess San Antonio vs. OKC out west and Miami vs. Chicago in the east.

Mavs look a little rusty. Lakers look like a .500 team. Chicago should be pretty strong. I'm going to guess San Antonio vs. OKC out west and Miami vs. Chicago in the east. Manu hand is broken now I think. So I can't see the Spurs making the West finals. I'm going with OKC vs. LA Lakers. But that's only by default. I can't see the Clippers there and now with Manu out for extended period, I can't see the Spurs either. I'm thinking that the Lakers will get enough of their shit together to contend in a very weak west. I've got the Bulls vs. The Heat in the East. The Knicks could come up and try for it, but I don't think they're as deep as either the Bulls or the Heat. And both teams have a better defense than the Knicks and obviously that how you win in the playoffsl. If I could think that the Celtics could stave off old age then maybe they could take out the Bulls, but I don't think so. The Bulls just seem like a better team. I think the Bulls are also better than Indiana. They could put up a fight like last year, but I still see the Bulls as being better. They could be a force when David West comes back. That guy is a beast and an all star. He could catapult them to being a contender. And the Hawks are still lurking. You just never know with them. I've seen a few of their games and they seem to have much more mental strength than past years. Which has always been their weakness. I'll go with Heat vs. Bulls which will probably go 7 games. I'd be surprised if it didn't. It seems like with the addition of Rip Hamilton the Bulls got a pretty good upgrade and a lot more scoring than they had with Keith Bogans. I'd still like to see them make a trade for another big man at least. If they could make a trade at the deadline then I'd give them the edge. If they don't then the edge still clearly belong to the Heat. And I've got OKC finally breaking through in a 6 game series. Unless the Bulls make a trade then I think Lebron will win his first ring this year. It just seems like the year that Lebron would break through. We'll see. You never know. I mean who thought the Mavs would win last year. It's rare that the team that everyone expects to win, wins.

my mavs have gotten off to a sorry start(no other way to put it), but we did beat OKC last night, which was supposedly the best team in the West so far, not to mention the only undefeated team left in the league. ANyways, i don't think we can repeat or anything even close to that, no bias here. imo the dark horse this year is Memphis. They basically embarrassed the Spurs last year, who had been the best team during the regular season, the way they dismantled them like SA was a d-league team. And that was without Rudy Gay. I think they have a chance to go deep in the playoffs this year. Spurs will make the playoffs like they always do but they're old, slow and did i mention they were old? i'll definitely be rooting for them though(huge Timmy Duncan fan).
Lakers... i hate Kobe(rapist, cheater, bad leader/teammate, selfish, etc, etc). They lost Odom and got nothing in return so i don't think they'll do any damage in the postseason. Oh, they also lost their coach. remember how Kobe did last time Phil wasn't around? Lakers missed the playoffs. Of course that was with Kwame Brown & Smush Parker @ the 4 and the 1 respectively lol.
Clippers will be fun to watch and Chris Paul is a straight up BOSS, they have the pieces to perhaps make the conference finals but that's as far as i see them going. And i have to mention Portland as well, their PF looks like the second coming of Tim Duncan. Ok maybe im exaggerating a bit but he is really good. btw this Ricky Rubio kid is the real deal, he looks like a young Steve Nash and plays like he did once he got to Phoenix. The West IS wide open, no doubt about that.
The East will come down to the same 3 or 4 teams it has in recent years. Boston, Miami(who everyone but Heat fans hate), Orlando, Chicago and perhaps New York. My heart says San Antonio vs Boston in the finals but my head says Memphis vs Miami.

The Nuggets are a team to watch out for this year. They don't have any big stars, but with the grueling condensed schedule this year, their depth and youth are going to be big.

If he's out for 4-6 weeks I think they can still make it. They're still going to make the playoffs and if their core is healthy I think they'll contend. If Manu is out or pretty banged up, then no way. He's their heart and soul. I'm not sold on the Lakers. With all the trade talk and nothing happening, I think Gasol's psyche is too fragile to really give 100%. He was already going to be disinterested this season after the way he played at the end of last year. They're another year older and only lost one of their pieces, didn't gain anything worth mentioning. I wouldn't be surprised if they imploded and barely made the playoffs. I don't know how I feel about Dallas. They still have Dirk, but they added frickin Vince Carter, who will give you like one good game per playoff series and disappear the rest of the time. Getting rid of Chandler is going to hurt them as well. I'll reserve judgement on them until later in the season.

You know, when he took them to 3 straight nba finals, winning all of them and getting finals MVP each time. In fact, Shaq is one of my favorite players of all time. Nothing i said about Kobe was "incorrect", he's selfish(at least you admit that), he's a cheater(cheated on his wife several times, once with a whore) and now he's getting divorced after she let it go the last time. He's a bad teammate, and to quote his own coach-Phil Jackson "He's uncoachable", and everyone knows he ran Shaquille O'neal out of town. The only thing that's arguable is whether or not he raped that woman. In the end, the man's character is pretty horrible. I really don't know how anyone who's not a Laker fan can like the dude. In fact i know several long time Laker fans that only root for him because he's on their team. what reason could someone from Odessa(love FNL btw) Texas possibly have to root for this guy?
