I admit I was a naysayer and even made a post asking whether I should get the album or not. To repeat I am a massive oasis fan but wasn't expecting much from Beady Eye. BUT I am pleasantly surprised!! I brought out of sheer loyalty and was expecting not much. But I admit, I am loving it. It feels like the band are enjoying themselves, it has a light and dare I say happy 'energy' to it. I have had the Roller in my head all day. Also saw an article in the Sydney Morning Herald, who also admit that its actually quite good! The article hints that working under Noel was no fun at all. No doubt he's a genius but did he squash all the other band members creative output? Did he have too much control? Still can't wait for Noels new stuff but maybe Noel and Liam work better apart. So great job, loving this album!!! SMH article www.smh.com.au/entertainment/music/oasis-of-calm-20110311-1bq0o.html

Glad you like it . But people need to give it a month or so before their true opinion. Some people seem to slate it instantly after just one full listen, but to be fair on the other hand you have people saying its 10/10, best album ever after the first day.
Think its a very solid album, i personally like it a lot, thought they were great live also.

yes its not 10/10 it has flaws but it seems honest and is what it is. Just these guys enjoying playing music. And Liam sounds brilliant too.

i think its a great album no matter if you are an oasis fan or not.
its just a shame that a part of oasis fanbase didnt believe in that band even if we had some good examples about their songwriting (Liam's i m outta time , songbird , boadc or Andy's Ride etc). seems that every day they gain more fans and aprreciation and soon they are gonna be not only a very good band but also a big one (already are if you see the charts.where s RNR?) their gigs are very good and if they keep that quality their festival shows are gonna be fantastic. promo so far is good (covers in many magazines, free single , videos, b sides , album tracks, radio sessions, interviews) . they should keep working about it and a new single , probably "the beat Goes On" is gonna help a lot. i m not sure if i want them to become massive cause i m afraid they are gonna lose that free spirit feeling , but who have to wait n see...

I've loved seeing this new group develop. The forums been brilliant for news and fan opinions (Granted theres been totally negative ones and the ridiculous fake lyrics some tw@ts make up).
But go back to last year, rumours of a new band, then the name which many of us slated, then the first tune (and again many of us werent too happy with), reading the names of the tracks, hearing those 30 sec clips. Their first live performances and finally the leak and then seeing them live.
Been a brilliant ride, loved every second of it. Cant wait for all of this next year (supposedly) if album #2 comes out late 2012.
'The leak is imminent' - Makes me laugh whenever i see this.

Doesnt have many tunes that get the crowd going however. Maybe it's the hooks or the chorus' or the words idk.
Oddly enough the Floydesque tunes sound the best in my opinion.Hopefully the next album has more of the sounds that I'm hearing live from stuff like Morning Son.
And I keep thinking BEADY EYES may have been slightly less awful.
