Oasis frontman Liam Gallagher living in Toronto?

Don't laugh.

It almost happened at the height of the British tabloid press frenzy surrounding Gallagher and his fiancee, Canadian-born Nicole Appleton, formerly of All Saints, with whom he has a two-year-old son, Gene (short for Genius).

"Liam and I almost moved to Canada," says the impossibly blond and beautiful Nicole, 28, seated beside equally gorgeous older sister Natalie, 30, in a Notting Hill club recently to promote Everything's Eventual, their new pop-electronica album as the duo Appleton.

"We've had debates about it. But you don't just go to Canada because of the press. It's just if you want to."

Jokes Natalie, who's brought along her three-month-old white chihuahua named Michael Jackson in a fake Burberry bag: "Is Canada ready for Liam Gallagher?"

That would be a big fat yes.

"It's one of his favourite places in the world," Nicole says. "And he loves bringing up that he has a Canadian fiancee when he's there. Loves it. But our family are out there and I had my uncle looking for places for us to live in Toronto. It got that serious. That was right before we released our album so it's kind of been put aside. But there's always going be that option I think, whatever happens. I mean, it was always Ireland or Canada -- it's one of the two."
