I know it's all about the music but when I go to see them in the Olimpia next month I would like to see some banter between the boys and some interaction with the crowd between songs. When Oasis did this it was great but it didn't happen often especially towards the end. It doesn't seem to be happening with Beady Eye going by the the gigs so far. Maybe it's nerves? But when the lads are doing interviews they seem to more relaxed and they have a bit of a laugh. Any thoughts? Or did just miss something?

I do miss the banter. Like you said, towards the end of Oasis the was hardly any.
Maybe they will relax as they go on, but I would like SOME at least.

I agree, some banter always gives the show that little extra I would have thought there would have been some more interactions with each other and maybe the public as well, cause in every interview they seem so proud of the fact that they get along so well (and that it's much more fun than in Oasis) but nope.. not yet.. Hopefully this changes as they go on and feel more comfortable!

unreal.
Yeah, some meaningless jibberish between the four of them would really heighten the rock n roll experience.
I mean I own concert albums where's there's actually enitre 10 sec tracks devoted to drummers knockin it around with the rhythm guitarist.

I also miss Liam announcing the next song's name. He did this in most Oasis gigs I know and I kinda liked that. "This one's called fuckin' Slide Away, so get your fuckin' hands up in tha air!"

I do miss Liam's gibberish. Used to be a hallmark of Oasis in the mid 90s.

Yeah 'm going to the Olympia one as well and I would be a bit annoyed if Liam didn't interact with the crowd. He doesn't have to start slagging Noel off just shout random words as did in the 90's, that usually don't make sense but are brilliant at the same time. I don't know a lot about this myself but do they stand so far away from each other for sound reasons, surely they could be a bit closer together, on the youtube videos you barely notice Andy. Liam keeps on going on about it being rock n roll, well if he wants it to be more rock n roll, he should act a bit mad sometimes like we know he is.If he broke a tambourine again it would do me

I do find it funny if Liam continues to go on about how the small gigs are where it is at...then doesn't make the effort to engage with the audience. Isn't that supposed to be one of the best things about seeing a band in a small venue? If Liam keeps putting on the same act as he would in Wembley or MSG...then are they really taking full advantage of the benefits of playing the smaller venues?
I hope it's just that Liam's a bit nervous and he'll loosen up...or it would be great if Gem would step up to the mic for a bit of a chat once in a while.

I have to disagree, thought Liam interacted well, he spoke, he posed, he clapped, he waved and he twice came right to the front of the stage to acknowledge the masses. What more do you want a little story telling section ??

He did that in Manchester on the 7th, I enjoyed Bring the FUCKING light lol..and there were dedications to the Pretty Green posse etc...I think people went to a different gig to me

But you were there so you can tell!

When I read banter I thought of talk between Andy, Liam & Gem, I think they we eventually get there, IMO they may still be in Oasis quiet mode on stage. But with Liam I thought he was doing perfectly fine, maybe still have bit of nerves. Also I think a lot of the banter in the 90's may have been drug induced

I'm seeing Beady Eye at Paradiso in Amsterdam. When I saw Airbourne there back in november this happened:
Something is telling me Liam won't approve of this xD

Well i went to the second night at the Troxy & there was plenty of banter, he said quite a bit, "Is that a fake pretty green shirt?" "You lot are the bollocks, it's good to be on stage to sing for ya" "Any Chas & Dave fans in the house? I thought so, this is Bring the fookin light" & he also asked a fan to name another song by the world of twist after he announces they'll be playing SOTS, he was pretty lively!

I don't know, maybe it's just me, but the banter (mainly from Noel) on the DOYS tour seemed scripted. I loved the adlib element of the band in the 90s......

I think banter between a person and an arena audience is generally scripted...isn't it? Unless you start bellowing about teabags like a lunatic in a drunken frenzy...in which case...that isn't banter...that it watching someone have a mini-meltdown on stage. I never found that particularly amusing.
Liam will probably never be a very engaging on-stage presence in that respect. Good thing he has other stage presence in spades.
I find Noel's banter in smaller gig quite amusing...and it doesn't really seem scripted to me...

Noel's comment when the barrier burst in Manchester 2005 was hilarious. "You're gonna get the sack...."

I think it's quite funny when he heckles the crowd. I like the bits between the songs @ the Lowry in 2006. "I only carry hundreds" and "Terry only carries 20's...one day he hopes to elevate to the 50" and "No seriously, Where you fucking going? You won a competition for this! You miserable C*nt!" when someone gets up to use the bathroom @ the beginning of Wonderwall and then asks "was it a shit or a piss? Piss...was it good? Good...I hope it fucking stung" or that his timekeeping thing or whatever is keeping track of his bank account.

I always like the way Noel would introduce Jay as The Shroud or "the son of god, jesus christ, on keyboards".
