Definitely better than DOYS, is it better than DBTT? nope, to me it isn't . so yeah, after quite a few weeks of listening to the album i can objectively say DGSS > DOYS
so... best album since DBTT, and not necessarily/exclusively thanks to Noel's songs. The fact that i really like songs like KTDA(favorite off that album), TUTS, GGTIA and even ABWR make that album a very solid/complete one.

It doesn't better any Oasis LP, period.
And humorously enough, it only comes within shouting distance of DOYS thanks to the tacked-on garbage that is the final 4 tracks on it authored by the same 3 at play here.
Matter of fact, there's not 5 tracks on DOYS and DGSS COMBINED from the trio that approach BIT, TT, WFTR, TSOTL, and Falling Down.

Well, it's better than Heathen Chemistry but isn't as good as either of the following two.

It's better than Heathen Chemistry. Probably more consistent than SOTSOG but doesn't hit that album's heights. Not as good as DOYS or DBTT though.

Best since DOYS for me as well. Only Oasis album that it beats handily for me is HC.
LOL @ someone voting best album since DM...I'm glad someone loves it that much.

It all comes down to personal opinion & personally i rate it best since be here now, although DBTT is still a top top album and DOYS has its moments

Its only better than HC.
I also think its entirely too early to say. The contact high will wear off.

"Best since" doesn't mean "better than" the album you chose. In my opinion, you're equating if anything. I went with DBTT, same amount of quality, imo - although lacking in the lyrical department. But I do enjoy every DGSS song while I can't personally stand something like ABWR.
It has the freshness and same vibe as WTSMG, but clearly lacks the quality of that master piece. It's far behind DM. It's not as fun or as obnoxious as BHN (the latter element being a positive in this case). I think SOTSOG is good, bar 3 songs, not quite sure how to compare it with DGSS. It lacks the killer singles of HC, although it is far superior as an album than the Oasis release. It's in a similar vein to DBTT, and it lacks the annoying songs that are found on DOYS but lacks some of the rocking superior ones, too.
Over all, a solid album that can still sit comfortably in Oasis' midtable of albums, somewhere along side DOYS and DBTT, and far ahead of HC. I think that's fair

I will probably never listen to Heathen Chemistry all the way through ever again. I'm pretty sure i'll be giving this more spins in a years time.

This is what I feel its lacking more than anything. There's nothing fresh about this record whatsoever. Its not awful, but its hardly anything Im going to listen to regularly. Its almost like pleasant wallpaper you forget exists after a few days of it being put up. Im lookng forward to seeing them live as Im sure they will bring it, but I could care less if I know all the songs like I do Oasis' going in. Its okay for what it is. An average to decent straight ahead rock and roll record with mostly silly throwaway lyrics that at worst are completely banal and silly, and a few excellent lines here and there. As for best since? Its not as good as DOYS nor DBTT. HC had stronger moments, but far more shit and a lot more cringeworthy moments. IMO this is a very safe record. Its exactly what Id imagine Oasis without Noel sounding like, or if Noel was off his game (see HC). A few Jerry Lee Lewis piano progressions doesnt change the overall scope.

I think that's fair I agree with alot you've said there especially about DBTT as it is a good album. At moments id place DGSS above BHN but then again I do love some of the tracks off of BHN

We'll see how the dust settles and you feel about the album. But its hard to compare it to Oasis albums even if DGSS is a great album.

What I've always said about HC still stands. It prolly has the best straightaway singles of any Oasis LP. And not just one or two, either. THT, SCYHO, LBL, SB...give me a break, there aren't 3 on DGSS that can match them.
And seeing I've always thought HungIABP, PAITM, SIL, and BM were ok that puts it in 3 star territory, easily.
Outside of FLW, the Roller, and the Beat Goes On, I don't see myself listening to ANY of these other bend-offs 6 months from now.
