I am thinking this has to do with Liam saying they were opening a Pretty Green in NYC very soon... could be they couldn't get anymore dates around that date? I dunno.. planning all 3...should be awesome.. What is so shit about the Sound Academy? (seriously I have no clue) Everything is shit about it. The way its laid out, sound, etc. Dont even think of trying to go to the bar. Its just an impossible venue. Its also not easy to get to. Im speaking first hand and heres more detailed hate: www.yelp.ca/biz/sound-academy-toronto

I'm seriously having a fucking coronary right now. No fuckin LA gig? Who ever the he'll is responsible for this better get canned. This is a travesty of justice! Financially I can do the east-coast gigs but I'm LIVID at the fact that us BestCoasters just got slapped in the face by BE omission to come play out this way, like, we're only known as THE-FUCKING-ENTERTAINMENT-CAPITAL-OF-THE-WORLD!!!

i can't imagine them having only 3 u.s. tour dates. that wouldn't even be worth the time and effort it'd take to put on the shows.

Rumors are a Letterman or Fallon appearance and stuff on radio in all three markets. That makes it worth it.

That makes it worth it. that would justify the trip more. i still can't imagine them only playing 3 'shows', and none on the west coast.

I think they've said multiple times they'd be back after the summer tour. Thats when it will be a more expansive thing.
Hell, Oasis came over in July of 1994 for 1 freakin show (Wetlands). I dont remember the story behind that, but its not unheard of for foreign bands to only play a few shows when they're doing promotion. Granted, their first US tour was fairly expansive, but the 2nd visit was that single show.

A band like Los Campesinos has come to DC, and several other US cities at least twice (I've seen them once at the 930 Club and had an absolute blast). Suffice it to say, the 2nd time they were in DC it was pretty much sold out at a capacity around 2,000 (didn't make it to the first gig, so can't say what that one was like).
My point? LC! as a new UK band have had fabulous tours in the US. And other than a new Budwiser ad, they don't get any playtime in the US.
You're telling me that the remnants of Oasis - the biggest band in the world in the 90s, and the makers of Wonderwall which is still huge in the US 15 years later can't play more than 2 gigs in the United States?
I seriously hope someone on their management team is reading this thread and taking it seriously.
Again, this is utter nonsense.

You know what, three fucking shows don't cut it for their first time playing in the States. It's fucking code. If you're a new band coming across the pond for your debut State side gigs, you play LA&NYC. End of.

More US tour dates are imminent

More dates will definitely come. If they'd laid out 6 or 8 dates, you could say maybe that this is bizzare. But the notable omission of west coast and other more central locations (apart from Chicago) means that they'll be announced soon enough. And we have some notification of those gigs happening in August.
Seeing as I'm in Vancouver, I'm assuming its likely they'll stop here and play the Commodore or Venue or something. LA of course will get a visit. Where else...maybe Seattle? San Fransisco? We'll see...

Internet presale for the NY show... Makes it really difficult when you're at work from 7:30 till 2:30. Hope it doesn't sell out too quickly; I don't want to miss this.

Tickets for Toronto are $38 plus $12 ticketmaster fees, so $50.
