I am a huge oasis fan and have kept an eye on Beady Eye (ho ho) and to be honest haven't been that keen on the first free or non free singles, Bring The Light, Four Letter Word, The Roller.
The reviews Iv'e seen are that it's a decent effort and not the disaster feared but nothing amazing.
I have 100's of decent but not amazing albums and don't know if I need another.
From what Iv'e read ( maybe wrong so apologies if I am) most of the tunes were from previous oasis sessions but rejected by Noel from being included on albums. Call Noel what you like ( I use words like genius) but he did have a good sense of quality control as there isn't really a bad oasis album, some better than most but the song writing is consistently good to excellent.
As I said Iv'e not heard the whole album but I'm just not drawn to getting it. This from someone who brought all the oasis albums (apart from DM) on first day of release.
Noels new stuff I am looking forward to.
I am open to be convinced though- IS IT ANY GOOOD???

his quality control was terrible if you ask me during the DOYS period imo . Why the fuck was a song like "The nature of reality" allowed on the album is beyond me. A song like "Aint got Nothing"(sorry to be so repetitive but) ain't got nothing on any of the 13 tracks on the Beady Eye album. Is it worth getting? HELL YES it is. I paid 8 bucks and some change for the CD. on iTunes they're selling it for like 7 dollars and you get a bonus track. I think it is worth it... a lot of music for the buck. THe highlights of the album imo are: Millionaire Three Ring Circus Wigwam Standing on the edge of the noise Kill For a Dream

Are you serious?
Why wouldn't you get the album, even if it was just out of interest? That's how you discover songs you may not have heard otherwise!!!
Have you heard The Beat Goes On?
If not, then you are seriously missing out, go buy it!

It begins and ends great, everything in between is decent at best. If this album was released by anyone else I won't bother with it to be honest, Liam's vocals are what makes it enjoyable to me. Go for it I say.

Don't ask others. If you want to hear it, buy it. If you don't want, don't do that.

For me ...
Best are - Four Letter Word, For Anyone, Wigwam, The Beat Goes On, The Morning Son
Those make it worthwhile buying, if you're not sure - have a listen on YT or somewhere before you buy.

You say youre a huge Oasis fan, then you'll like this wont you ? If youre a huge fan 8 quid or so (think some places you can get it much lower) and you've got 13 brand new tracks.
You can listen to previews online like amazon or itunes , its not like buying a car or something ! You can pick up the album dirt cheap, the more of us who buy it the more tours/future albums etc.
If youre an Oasis fan i would say you should have this 100%

If it has Liams voice on it then its worth buying at least I was saying that if this album was released by any other band I won't bother with it really. Liam's voice is what makes this mostly 'meh' album alright.

Just download it. If you like it, buy it. If you don't, bin it. Or go on Youtube and listen to it. This is like a question from 1996. Theres so many ways to hear a record these days.
Personally, if this was the old days, I'd not have gotten this record. I got a slight contact high the first day I heard it, but its gotten old really fast. There's not one track on there I dont care if I ever hear again. I plan on going to see them, but even there if for some reason I couldnt go, it wouldnt be like missing an Oasis show where it was a bit devastating because despite Oasis' warts, they still had the back catalog.

For a big Oasis fan I think it'll be worth it. Presumably you love Liam's voice...and he sounds pretty good on the album.
It's better than HC and has tunes that would fit in the higher middle regions of post MG Oasis tunes.
I wouldn't recommend it to a random person on the street...but I would for an Oasis fan.
If you are worried about having subpar music on ur iPod you can always just cherrypick the 3-4 really good tunes to sync and leave the rest off.
But if you are hoping for a consensus on this board about the worth of the album...good luck. LOL

It's painfully mediocre. I haven't listened to it for about a week. Considering they love The Beatles so much it's disappointing how middle of the road the album sounds.

Not just saying it but i'm loving this album. Been playing it tons and not bored of it at all, love Liams voice, got 13 new songs plus b sides. A lot are growers, love the sound. I'm happy as hell with it. If Oasis were still together we would have to wait 5 or so years for Noel to get the next album sorted. If i get a couple of Beady Eye albums in between and then the reunion tour happens then thats all good - and thats what i picture happening.
Another album late next year by Beady Eye and then at some point the huge huge Oasis reunion tour, tons of money, sold out stadiums and a new album.

I bought it "for the good times" If it was a new band i wouldn´t care for it. Some decent music, nothing special. I remember someone compared Beat goes on with Let it be and Don´t look back in anger. It´s a nice song but... i suppose he is banned now.

Youv'e convinced me, I'll get it. It's not out in Aus until 11th March so this will be the first 'oasis' album I'll download on itunes.
Call me old fashioned but I just can't rip music for free on torrents. Just can't do it.
Yes I agree It's worth a shot and my expectations may be exceeded,
Really excited about Noels stuff though.
