I was strumming The Morning Son and realized that the progression is almost identical to that of the intro and verses in Just Getting Older, except for the difference in key.
Not that it bothers me or anything. Just wondering, did anyone else noticed this?

you're looking way too into it.

No he's not, it's true! I realized that while listening to it. But it's the same chords and the same progression. I think one chord's different.

when you start analysing songs like that - you are looking too much into it.
Songs are not for analysing!

It's not an analysis it's a remark. I noticed it while listening to it. Can't really stop my head from noticing things can I? lol

Analysing would be "he must mean that so and so is a two faced wanker by using the exact same progression from this and that song of Oasis". So yeh, this is just a remark haha. And come on oneeye, sometimes analysing is fun! (especially when you can't make anything out of a song or its lyrics)

you're looking way too into it. If you think its over analyzing to notice that one song has the same progression as another, while you're playing that song on guitar......then you probably don't play guitar. Its not over analyzing, its just noticing. There are a few time when I've played Oasis songs and have noticed a few common progressions, between those songs and others. Wasn't "analyzing" it, just noticed it. You notice those kind of things while you're playing, just the curse of playing guitar.

Yeah analysing it would have been:
Liam wrote that song about him and Noel because he says "You go your way and I'll go mine" using the same chords as just getting older because he knows that he's almost 40 and that he's calming down and his life is changing but Noel had already written a song about it so....."
and so on.

Not the first time TMS has been compared to JGO. Although I still fail to see the comparisons.....

JGO: A A6/9 (something like that) D Dm A E D A TMS: E E6/9 (soemthing like that) A Am E B A Am E (with capo on 2)
It was definitely as Spaneli says, one of those thigns you notice while playing guitar. I like zecheif's example of anaylsis. Well done, its defintely the sort of stuff we find around here.
