The only song that doesn't sound great (from those few on Youtube) is For Anyone - not because of Liam's singing, it's too slow. I still don't get it why they don't play Wigwam...Gem could easily take over for the higher notes.

Just had a listen to Morning Son, Beat Goes On, KFAD and For Anyone from Barrowlands. I really can't understand what everyone is on about. His album vocals are very, very good. But what he does live is just apalling. He hits every high note wrong, he again sounds like a singer struggling. Why can't it just come naturally? Why can't he just let it come from his stomach, and sing naturally? I understand all the mayhem around the first gig, and them playing again live. But i just cannot believe those enthusiastic (youtube-) comments saying he sounds 'amazing' or 'nailed' the For Anyone vocal. I was hoping for clean vocals, not the screaming, drunken hooligan thing. Fuck Liam, get some lessons. Relaxe on stage. Have fun. Do us a favour and fuck off m8, have you only just started listening to Liam/Oasis?....you sound like you wanted a night at the opera not a fucking rock n roll gig....and as i''ve posted elsewhere how can you judge off a camera phone video?......get yourself to a gig (armchair fan I bet?) and you'll hear a damn fine rock n roll show

I was at the gig last night and i couldn't find any faults in his voice. He was holding his notes and i could actually hear the raspyness has came back so overall his voice was pretty decent last night.

Was amazing mate!! Don't see why people feel the need to bash his voice... he was on top form, maybe struggled on a couple numbers but isn't that normal considering the noise from the crowd etc... Indeed everyone is entitled to their opinion but i think some are being a bit over the top and harsh! The man is hitting 40 and considering the amount of cigarettes, drugs and the singing posture he has took/did over the years, i think he's doing pretty good for himself, but like i said everyone is entitled to their opinion I'm just happy for the boys because they've continued on doing what they love and give us some proper rock n roll music! Gig was bouncing from start to finish and it was good to see the band enjoying themselves aswell and obviously not holding any bad vibes as they did in the past ;D Roll on the Edinburgh Corn Exchange Just hope there is a bootleg pops up soon so everyone can have a listen

I'm never giving up, until the dream is real Its alright tbf, to say its appalling is bullshit. Its not stunning, its not dreadful. And frankly all I care about is the gig i'm going to next week and he generally sounds great in the actual venue. For the first time ever, I think, I'm going to agree with Tom. And as everyone else has said it's hard to judge from youtube, but it sounds better than Liam's dreadful (for the most part) 2005 DBTT tour. Marked improvement, and that's all you can ask for. Also, this could be a topic for a new thread, but I'll stick it here for the moment: Is it just me, or has Liam looked tense on stage (last night, along with the last couple of years). He doesn't look relaxed these days, to me....Anyone else notice this?

Can't be fucking bothered to read every critics comments on this thread, jesus, some ppl are just fucking lame. All this Liam bashing, c'mon? Really? His voice has sounded like this for years, we all know that he is NEVER going to sound like he did in 94, get the fuck over it and believe the truth, it is what it is. Not saying it's GREAT but it sure as fuck ain't as bad as the topic starter of this thread paints it out to be. When I go to a gig yeah Liam is the center of my attention however so is the band. I wanna hear how they're playing and how Chrissy sounds behind the kit. I'm there to enjoy myself and NOT dwell on "Liams voice". To qoute rkid, "we're blinded by what we idolize", we all love/loved his voice in the early years and I'm sure most of us on here listen to those early CDs quite often but y'all need to let go of the past and live for today, man. We should ALL be thankful that Liam is still making good music AND giving it a go and playing it live for us, the fans. I'd rather hear "kermit" for the rest of my life, than some fake autotune Britney Spears/Justin Bieber Liam on stage any day of the week! Don't like what I said? Email me at Gofuckyourself@asshole.net

Yet now you wanna start bashing him for it?

The only way Liam is going to sound better is in a controlled environment. You all need to get it through your heads that this is a rock n' roll band not a glee show.

It's a rock n roll concert not an opera. Anyone who goes should be singing along and not be thinking-oh I don't think Liam quite hit that note, who cares? Okay if he doesn't hit the notes on the album that's fair enough but the album is perfect. If you want all that go watch the X-Factor. That show produces nice boring singers but it doesn't produce rock n roll stars

Completely disagree. If he's not hitting notes, he's a pub rock karaoke singer with a decent voice.

liam gallagher a pub singer???fuck off hes the reason your on this board mate,no singer in a rock n roll band ever comes across the same in a loud live show simply because hes having to bastard shout to get the effect he wants, liams sounds perfectly fine at this gig,as also pointed out in the abbey road gig you can clearly hear him stating that the p.a is ruining his vocal which in certain settings an areas it does,he uses effects live and on some songs this is hard to work with cos his voice is naturally raspy, but hes sounded quality so far so piss off with bashing ,or go an listen to chris martin cos hes fuckin awful

Well after reading the comments I have come home to find that Liam sounded fantastic.......even on a crappy youtube his voice is clear and he is holding the notes....its a rock performance and that is as good as it gets imo Liam last night > anything for the last 10 years
For all the no marks going on about Chris Martin etc have you heard this gimp live? he sounds strained and out of tune on cd nevermind live...and Bono sounds like a whale being raped in its blowhole!!

LOL love you guys.
No, I haven't listened to the videos. I'm just saying IF he is not hitting notes, THEN he is a pub rock karaoke singer. Anyone who argues otherwise is the real pleb. Forgive me for wanting to hear musicians play/sing music in tune! There's a reason we reacted so positively to the KEXP/BBC sessions and Liam's vocals are it...

You don't need to speculate when it will take you a minute to go have a look or click on the youtube link i posted earlier. Although I kinda think I know what you'll say no regardless of what you actually think.
All I asked you was have you noticed it being bad at the actual gigs?

lol ok. I listened to some clips on youtube and he does indeed sound fine. Not GREAT, mind you, but definitely good. And better than I expected after reading all the bashing on here... His tone goes awry at times but he's clearly being assaulted by noise all around him. Not an easy gig. As for my experiences at Oasis gigs (and I've been to six), I've never once thought he sounded bad. Happy now?
