Noel tell of best night out in snooker bar
MILLIONAIRE rock star Noel Gallagher has revealed he spent one of his best nights out in a Scottish snooker hall. The Oasis guitarist and songwriter told how he spent a boozy night with comedian Keith Allen at the Partick Snooker Club in Glasgow. Noel, 36, who wrote smash hits Wonderwall and Don't Look Back In Anger, said he had "never been so drunk" after his session. The Gallagher family's Irish background and Noel's support for Celtic ensured a warm welcome from his Scottish fans. And the wildman, dating Scot Sara MacDonald, admitted their generosity was in evidence the night he rolled into the bar with Allen. He said: "The club was packed and everyone was buying me drinks. "I have never been so drunk in all my life and it was one of the best nights I have ever had. "We chatted about football and politics until the wee small hours." Bar supervisor Alec Henderson, 48, recalled: "Noel and Keith had a few drinks, as rock stars do, and a couple of games of snooker. "He was no trouble though and had a great laugh with all the punters." And Noel also revealed how he shared a drink with Celtic manager Martin O'Neill after the club's 6-2 victory over Old Firm rivals Rangers in 2000. Noel said: "I was standing there thinking, `I can't believe this. I'm sitting in the manager's office having a whisky.' "I couldn't believe it, it really was a great day out."
