'You'd be forgiven for thinking that launching a new band and setting off on your inaugural tour to promote your debut album would be enough to keep you busy, but Beady Eye frontman Liam Gallagher has been speaking of his side career as a film producer.

As previously reported by Spinner, the former Oasis singer -- whose new album, 'Different Gear, Still Speeding' is released in the UK on Monday, Feb. 28 -- has been working on a film version of Richard DiLello's account of the rise and fall of the Beatles' Apple Corps, 'The Longest Cocktail Party.' According to Gallagher, the film treads the fine line between comedy and drama but won't be released if it doesn't meet his approval.

Gallagher told music website The Quietus," I've seen the script and it's mega. It makes me laugh and it tickles me and it'll do. But if it's morbid and it's boring then it won't see the light of day."

He continued, "My involvement is getting the right people about. [Writer] Jesse Armstrong from [sitcom] 'Peep Show' is involved and it's f---ing good, man. I read the script and he narrowed it down a bit and he had me rolling around on the floor. If we can keep it like that it'll be good, man. There's a lot of humour in it but it's a bit dark too. It's not just one thing; it's got a bit of everything. But it's definitely got some f---ing funny bits in it and some darkness."'
