::)The weekly UK top 40 singles does not show an entry for Beady Eye? Is this correct? I hope i'm looking at the wrong chart. Adele (i think that's how you spell her name?) is in the top 10 twice and then again in the top 30. Wow! So who has bought the Roller? Obviously not the same amount of people who buy Oasis singles. I really hope i'm wrong.

This week The Roller is at 51, peaked at 31 a few weeks ago.
Had everything been released together then we may have had a chance of the single hitting the Top 20 or Top 25.

That's rubbish. Sorry but it really is. That is no particluar amount of sales at all. Perhaps Beady Eye made the Roller 'limited edition'? I remember when Shock of The Lightning missed No 1 in the singles. Since 1995 all debut Oasis songs had gone straight in at No1. I would of thought Beady Eye would have the same fan base.
51 ?
Thats just crap.
Sorry, but it is.

But to me The Roller was officially released last week. Certainly on 7" vinyl. Therefore making it a strong entry for this weeks charts. I'm just pissed off with it. That's all. Cheers!

They should have released it together with the b-side and had some tv performances of it under their belt first. They'd have been laughing then. They seem determined to fuck up their own sales.

Oasis last 3 singles went in 3, 12 and 10 in the UK. Not the prolific top 2's we became used to.
The charts are in a state and even if it was the lead single to an Oasis 8th album, it would probably struggle to hit Top 10. Thats just the way it is these days, no wonder Beady Eye arent particularly arsed, not many British rock/indie bands are.
The Roller was not helped because of a staggered release and very little promotion, if this was different then like I said it could have made Top 20 or Top 25 which would have been right in the modern day charts, its sad but true.
Best we can hope is that all fully released singles make the Top 40 and the albums reach Top 5. If we can that then in my opinion we've had a result.

yeah the album is obviously not gonna go #1, a lot ppl can say they knew that from the get go but there were some that thought DGSS had a shot. as for the single, they did everything wrong, or maybe like some have said, they simply didn't care(i don't think this is the case). You don't release an audio only video(if that makes sense) on youtube and then a week later the proper music video and then several weeks later the actual single. it's just retarded. that's just not how you do things in this day and age. you release everything at once .

It's not that great of a song, I don't see how you could be surprised it didn't fare well. Low quality Oasis singles didn't do very well. Low quality Beady Eye? I think it's spot should be expected.

It is poor the placing, i had the download from the net but bought the single to do my bit.
But granted it been a right mess, one minute the downloads available, a week or two later the atual record is available to buy. No plugging of the single on an advert or tv show. Big shame.
But i do hope the album makes top 5, i read it wont go to #1 due to some crappy teenager Keisha type crap or something but i hope top 5
Just hope people buy it, there will be a chunk who will think 'nah i've got my dodgy copy 2 weeks ago, i'm not buying it...' which is a shame

Music Week:
Four weeks after debuting at number 31 on the strength of downloads, former Oasis singer Liam Gallagher’s Beady Eye returns to the chart with The Roller, thanks to sales of the newly released 7-inch vinyl format.
Accounting for 3,637 (58.86%) of the track’s 6,179 sales last week, it was nevertheless only enough for the song to re-enter the list at number 51 – the band’s debut album, Different Gear, Still Speeding, which is released today (28th) will doubtless fare much better, having shipped gold (100,000). The Roller debuts at number one on the 7-inch chart, where Come Closer by Miles Kane is a distant runner-up (893 sales).

That mean, the album is on for at least 100,000 sales this week? Surely that cant be true.

Yeah because I dont think the stores will be a big market. The majority will download from itunes or buy the cd or vinyl online.
Hopefully it can make the Top 3 or 4. The dreamer in me wants a #1, sort of a two fingers to everyone in the music industry but I very much doubt that will happen.
