Nicole ... punched on head

LIAM Gallagher’s fiancée Nicole Appleton was punched in the head last night when a nut attacked the couple in the street.

Oasis star Liam and Nicole were leaving a diner when the thug stormed up and began screaming abuse.

He then swung at Liam, but the singer ducked and the blow caught ex-All Saints star Nicole, 28, on the back of the head.

Liam “went ballistic” and began trading punches with the yob.

Liam, 30, said: “Someone shouted ‘Oi scumbag, I’m going to kill you!’ I was backing up, saying ‘I don’t want trouble’ when he swung.

It hit Nicole. She’s got a bump and is really shaken.
“You can’t go around punching women in the street. We’re giving a statement to cops.”<br>

Builder Jim Danahar, 30, saw the punch-up outside Nando’s in West Hampstead, North London. He said: “This nut just charged and started swinging.”<br>
Photographer Tom Lillington, 49, last night admitted hitting Liam in “a moment of madness”, saying he had a long-running feud with the star.

He said: “I don’t recall hitting Nicole.”<br>The Sun
