Isn't the grammar in this song quite wrong? English is not my first language so I'm asking just to be sure. Shouldn't it be "the son has risen"?

pfff grammar... nobody not even english professors talk like that. when you're writing, then yes... a paper/essay should be done properly but this is a song, come on.

Can't remember who sang this but there was a lyric 'I'm sorry I misleaded you' which should be misled. Lyrics don't really use grammar  |

By the same logic, it would read, "The morning sun has risen." Either way, correcting grammar in rock 'n roll kinda takes away the edge of it, doesn't it? If the Doors were grammatically correct, Jim Morrison would've written, "Till the stars fall from the sky for you and me." And, hell, that doesn't rhyme.

Just want to point out - as I have done in a similar thread - Noel sings "cos it don't stop raining" in TIOBI, when 'won't' not only is grammatically correct, but it fits the exact same way. No idea what Noely was thinking there.

Most people are shocked to find out that Liam can do anything other then sing, drink, fight, shit, and sleep, so writing grammatically correct lyrics should be far beyond his reach, right?

Using rose (simple past) in the song context ie Son (not sun) is more natural than using had risen (past perfect) in spoken English.

^Good point. However, if he is not referencing the rise or fall of the son, then he could be making reference to the color "rose", as in embarrassed or blushing, in which case the grammar is just fine.

I have now had it clarified, the line is actually in relation to Gene's nanny 'Rose', its due to Liam going out running early in the morning...... but no one worry 'The Morning Son has Rose'
See without context, the grammar can't really be wrong ;-)

Another thing as well.
When it says The Morning SON does that mean Liam is referring to himself as the Morning Son rather than talking about The Morning SUN?
This is most probably the case but does anyone have any idea what meaning this has, i.e: Why is he calling himself the Morning Son?

What I always thought the meaning was is: Son is referring the himself, and he uses the sunrise to describe that he is now up and ready to conquer the world on his own.

I have no experience with that, but since Liam says it was written before Oasis split up it could have well been about that Although he also says it's the only song that could be about Noel. Liam is obviously The Morning Son - he has risen from his older brother's shadow and is starting to shine. Hence the song called "Bring the Light". On top of that, the Morning Son creates vivid images of being the youngest and freshest - after all, he is the youngest Gallagher brother, no?

The Gallaghers may not be literally established, but they are damn good songwriters.
