When I first heard Four Letter Word I thought for sure that the album version would be longer with a killer Andy outro solo. So I was kind of disappointed when I found out that the single/taster -call it whatever you please - was the whole thing. I'm hoping the live version would have that solo. I don't know whether they'd played the song for Lowe's show tonight or not, I just hope that they're preparing something for the gigs later on coz the song seems unfinished to me.. The fade-out feels pretty wasteful considering the great solo potential.

I agree. With two great guitar players like Andy and Gem in the band, there should be more solos in general.

The issue is that Liam/Andy/Gem have issues writing anything that doesn't sound repetitive. Keep it simple stupid! Great advice for them. The best example of this can be found in the 4 minutes of repetition that is the outro to Wigwam.
EDIT: I do like both songs FLW and Wigwam.
