Yet to hear ONE bad review about this from anyone outside the Oasis fanbase. Quite strange seen as it was met with such mixed review on here and generally in the Oasis community.
when i played it to non-oasis fans they were really impressed by it and looking at reviews it's generally considered one of the best songs on the album.
So how can a song receive such good reviews from everyone else and be panned by "us".

Because Oasis fans have a poor taste in music and consider anything that isn't guitar led as rubbish

Because Oasis fans have a poor taste in music and consider anything that isn't guitar led as rubbish On the contrary, just because it isn't lead by guitars doesn't automatically make it good.

Because it was different to anything Oasis did, and people do not like change, you see it everywhere you go people happy with the status quo and any change to that is met with anger and bemusement.
My girlfriend loves Bring the Light, I also think its a catchy tune but do think it goes on a bit too long, but then some parts that I like are right near the end. But it is a good tune to me.

Way too many baby c'mons for my liking, could've been better with actual lyrics.

Thats fair enough but I do fell that in general people don't like change, I work at a newspaper, if we move the crossword an inch to the left we get hundreds of calls, I just think there is innate human nature to not like change. That obviously is a generality and doesn't apply to everyone.

The melody is ridiculously amateurish and it goes on way too long. Oh, also, it's not catchy.

I can't stand it. It just kills the album for me.

What I don't like about it is that it seems out of place on DGSS, you hear those 60's songs and then after that come that 50's piano notes of BTL.

I didn't mind it as a solo release, but it does not fit into the album at all. I skip it EVERY time.

just like when i read reviews that say Wigwam or Millionaire are "misses", i just don't care, i don't share that opinion. i don't care if the rest of the world loves it, i don't like it, i don't think it's a good song. I no longer hate it though lol
