I only know a few songs like Seven Nation Armys, Fell in Love With a Girl and The Hardest Button to Button.

I had a good cry when I learnt about it. They have a pristine discography, not a band album in there. It's nice that they ended it, I suppose, their legacy will always be preserved. They were one of the most unique, creative, and plain weird bands of the past decade+ and thhey'll always be remembered.

The White Stripes didn't have a lot of staying power for me. Liked 'em a lot around the garage rock craze, but they faded badly. I'd much, much rather have another Raconteurs or even Brendan Benson solo album.

By no means one of my favorite bands but its a true shame. In a world filled with bands that rely so much excess instrumentation, overdubing and ect it was nice to have a band that was just basic rock n roll. They will be missed, but them quitting will probably cement their status as one of the greats in 00's.

I'd give that title to The Gaslight Anthem without a close second. I saw them 4 times (and the frontman Brian Fallon solo once) over the span of about one and a half years. See them if you get the chance.

I didn't really follow them, bar their radio hits. I love The Hardest Button to Button. Think that song came out when I was in 10th grade, and me and my best friend would constantly sing it - so much so that more than several years later, I know the lyrics and I haven't heard the song for years! We named him baby, he had a toothache.....

^ What are you talking about, exactly? Do you know what that expression means? You think I'm reaching for something because I didn't say Muse or some similarly cliche answer? I really don't know what you meant by that, so if you have some sort of explanation other than not being able to comprehend the fact that different people have different opinions, let me know.
