OK - two of the most important brit bands ever...Smiths & Oasis. Two most engaging front men ever go solo...moz and liam.
Viva hate is a classic...will Liam's effort stand up?

Dont think so. Liam really doesnt have the lyrical capacity to write like Moz.
I think the The Moz vs. Liam comparison was made a few months ago on this forum, anyways.

If you should compare Viva Hate to anything oasis related, that would prob be Noel's solo album. BE isn't a solo effort. It's just a new band...

BDI vs. Ian Brown's debut is better...

Er, BDI isn't a solo album, be it against Brown or Morrissey?
What other bands do we know where the principal songwriter leaves but effectively the remainder carry on?
- Pink Floyd without Syd Barrett and then again without Roger Waters - Genesis without Peter Gabriel
etc

Fuck, Liam would be irrelevant musically if he was alone in it. Gem and Andy are more talented than him and are more important to BDI creatively that Liam will ever be. This is not a solo album.

Why do people always have to compare one to the other?
Viva Hate was and still is a classic album for more than 20 years. End.

Noel and Liam weren't a songwriting partnership...so comparing Liam to a post-Smith Moz is irrelevant.
