Hate the word 'Filler' like the band have sat around saying 'we've got nothing else that'll do' which in BE's case is clearly not true. You may not think its great or not like it at all but I despise this filler talk.
Aint Got Nothing and High Horse Lady are filler, because they filled in for tracks supposed to be on the album. These are BE's favourite ones that have gone on there.

Sorry i dont actually mean its 'crap' or 'lets put any tune in' when i say filler. I should use a different word, by filler i just mean its not a single release ! So yeah i should start saying 'non-single' !
I mean Hey Now is one of my favourites on WTSMG, because i never used to play it tons and i didnt hear it 24/7 on the radio or MTV etc i really love Hey Now. Beatles and Stones wont be a single but its a good drive along type tune, not an epic but no way that bad.
And yeah high horse lady is the one track i really cant stand, wish that kept to being a b side.

Instead of saying "filler" (it rubs me the wrong way as well) I just say "album track" or "album cut". Seems pretty widely used and most people know what I mean when I say it. Plus it doesn't have that negative connotation.

Correct me if I'm wrong but "Filler" was used to describe cover songs that artists usually put on their album to make up for numbers in the good olden' days.
Its rather non-existent these days, only one I can think of is *Cringe* Leona Lewis' cover of SCYHO.
So no, no filler in DGSS, except if B&S is an obscure Sid Vicious cover..

I think you're right in the origin of the term, but I've heard it to refer to any song that wasn't specifically written for an album. Meaning The Roller would be filler because it's an old song that Gem has. Now, we all know that's ridiculous considering it's the single. But you'd be surprised how many people don't realize that a songwriter taking a long time to get a song right doesn't mean it's bad or less than the ones which pop into our heads (although I do love when that happens, of course).
