Good review, but weird music taste. It mentions BTL as a highlight that can't be surpassed by anything on the album. It calls FLW "not a bad song but misguided fanfare" ...."things do, however, quickly get better" (than mentioning Millionaire.) They don't even mention the (as far as we're concerned) "more epic" second part of the album. Nothing about Wigwam, Beat goes on, Morning son... So in my view this is only a review of half the album It gets 3 stars and the album is called "pretty exciting to listen to". It seems like the album really is going to be on par with the last Oasis albums, which is much better as we all expected in advance!!

Pretty poor (and by poor, I mean the review itself) review. Lacks description by not mentioning the second half of the album, and isn't consistent in it's thinking considering "things quickly get better" but only justify that statement by mentioning only 2 tunes.
I'd take Q's review over this one (even if Q had it at the same star count, the Q review is much more informative.

This is as low key as it will get for any Oasis related album release.

There was hype in the NME/Melody Maker from the moment they signed for Creation. Plus British guitar music was far, far bigger than it is now. The Roller only sold 10,000 copies in a time when it's never been quicker, easier and cheaper to buy a single. Would be amazed if it sold half the numbers of the lowest selling Oasis record.

Noone is saying this album is better than the first 2...best they've said is better than the last 4-5 albums. (other than maybe Liam) Plus, I think, Oasis in the beginning had done a lot to get that momentum going. They had played in clubs for years before the album dropped. They had built a bit of a ground swell of anticipation. BDI had early Oasis beat all over in media access. But early Oasis had a different type of hype working in their favour...that of being tipped as the next big thing. The question isn't if you play BTL to people whether they will like it. It's an inoffensive tune. The worst I can say is that it's average. The question is will anyone hear their songs and think they have to get that album because they need that tune. All of those people that you guys have played BTL to...how many of them have said or implied that they wanted to buy the album when it came out because of it? What they need is a big single to bring people to the album. We have heard 3 tunes so far and none have been the tune to solidify them in the big times. I, personally hope that TBGO is that tune judging by the way it's being talked about.

Its never gonna be as good as the first 2 Oasis records or have the same impact, I just don't think its possible. However if its better than the last few Oasis albums (and I really like DBTT and DOYS) then I'll be a happy man.
As for the review, since he only mentioned half the songs i'd say its a pretty poor one. Not as good as the others we've had thus far.

Are there any reviews out there besides the ones from Q, Mojo, and Uncut, or is that it so far?

I would sincerely bet money that not a single non-Oasis fan in the entire world decided, upon hearing Bring The Light, that they needed to buy this album.

Are there any reviews out there besides the ones from Q, Mojo, and Uncut, or is that it so far? The Spanish edition of Rolling Stone gave it 3/5, but there was barely any content in the review (100 or so words), just a comparison to the Faces and Lennon's Double Fantasy.
