He is far too good to be a session bass player. I wish he would concentrate on his own stuff with his band The Black Marquee and get their damn debut album out Mini Rant over

right. because being in a band like this won't help get his name out to help when his band does get an album out.

right. because being in a band like this won't help get his name out to help when his band does get an album out. So he should be a session musician for years on end (since he was already with Gorillaz for ages before this) before he releases a debut album that has so much potential it's crazy?

How often in life do you get to stand alongside bone fide LEGENDS?

^^ I know but i would prefer if I could hear an album of his stuff rather than him being stuck in the background playing bass. He was working on his own stuff over Christmas so hopefully we will get something when the Beady Eye tour ends

Someone give Guigs a call! God - that would make me HARD. (ahhh... to see the WTSMG line up live on stage again... I'd wet my pants, as that was the true "Oasis". Love Gem and Andy in BDI mind, as it's truly "their" thing)

Oh yeah, I'd love to hear Guigsy's bass-ic playing again. He's not even on the albums FFS/
I Know LlAM was taking the piss, I just hope Els was too...

Jeff Wootton's from The Black Marquee? That's insane, I had no idea. I remember stumbling upon their MySpace page a year or so ago and assuming they were a barely known band just starting out. Now one of them's playing alongside Liam Gallagher?

right. because being in a band like this won't help get his name out to help when his band does get an album out. Exactly ! What a stupid thread, its not like anyone forced him to join Beady Eye. Sure hes happy with the exposure, working with Liam and co and a bit of extra dosh. I'm more keen on Beady Eye getting their album out and touring than this other band who i have no interest in

It didn't hurt Ocean Colour Scene having Steve Cradock join up with Paul Weller, so I can't see this hurting Jeff's band. If anything it will help their profile because I had never heard of them before now.

How about making Jeff a permenent member and him bringing those tunes over to Beady Eye?

How about making Jeff a permenent member and him bringing those tunes over to Beady Eye? No. Jeff's music wouldn't suit Liam's voice. And to the person above....I'm sorry for making a "stupid thread"

Sorry might have been a bit harsh but just meant no ones forcing him. Yeah he may be 'better' than being a session player but its all good for him, he gets PR for his band, might sell a few more copies. He 'might' have been asked to join the band but declined as hes already in another and doesnt want to ruin them down, who knows.
I still laugh when i think about Scott McLeod, when he replaced an ill Guigsy he had a chance to do the rest of the tour but got 'homesick' and then quit didnt he ? Ridiculous

Scott Mcleod and OAsis played at a place where i live here in Pittsburgh Called Metropol. in 1995. and he quit later that night. when oasis came back here in 98 the audience sucked and we're really "flat" and Oasis never came back to pittsburgh :-( seems like they never really a great gig here even tho i think they only played 2. i do like the road trip experience of going to see them so it's been o.k
