Been listening to their new album a lot lately. Really like it. Me too, it's really great. More consistent than their debut, although Wasted Little DJs and Superstar Tradesman still remain their best songs so far. Saw/heard them for the first time ever the other night at titp, enjoyed it. Where should I start out? Those two songs I mentioned and the whole Bread&Circuses album are awesome, although you might want to start with Hats off to the Buskers if you dig the rawer indie sound.

Saw/heard them for the first time ever the other night at titp, enjoyed it. Where should I start out? Listen through the three albums in order and you'll probably get to know the band pretty well after just one listen. First album was recorded when they were still in their teens and has a real raw sound. Catapulted them straight to number 1. Second album shows lots of mixed up ideas where they have oviously tried to progress but people say they were blighted by their well-documented rock and roll livestyle during this album. (they are banned from entering USA or Japan). Third album is further progression which works. Agree that they're under-rated, 3 great albums. Although they are massive in Scotland, they seem to be overlooked in England.

Their new album sounds really fresh, and sounds brilliant. Good to see Youth producing them, he's a great producer - so much so that Paul McCartney's project with him 'The Fireman' is one of Macca's best post Beatles work in my opinion.

Have people heard the two new tunes on the new EP?

Thought I'd revive this for Cheeky For A Reason, their new album. What does everyone think? I feel like it's slightly too polished for its own good, but I do like it. Not quite there with Bread & Circuses, I don't think.

Their new album is ok, has got a couple of good songs, still "Hats Off To The Buskers" is all time my favourite.
I'm seeing the boys for the 7th time on Tuesday. TVAOF!

There new album is their poorest imo. Don't like the production at all. Which Bitch? is their best imo...

Which Bitch? is too all over the place for my liking. That and the songcraft isn't on par with the other releases. Cheeky has the glossiest production and it suffers for it. Buskers and Circuses are definitely my two favorites.

There new album is their poorest imo. Don't like the production at all. Which Bitch? is their best imo... After a few listens I'd have to agree that Cheeky for a Reason is a little disappointing. Way too polished and many songs aren't fully developed yet (aka the Liam Gallagher problem ) - they start out good, build up and then end on sorely lacking choruses (e.g. How Long, Bunker, Bullet (!)). The Clock and Tacky Tattoo are my favorites so far and the rest isn't bad either, just not as good as it should have been. As for the other albums, Hats off to the Buskers was a great debut with some fillers but some of their best, Which Bitch was a brave attempt not to deliver more of the same but went a little too far - it too had its standout tracks though (5Rebeccas). Best lasts Forever is their best imo, a lot of incredible choruses and melodies. Really gutted their newest European tour doesn't include Munich

Was never really a fan of them, nor any of the post-Arctic Monkeys late 2000s Indie bands. The View, The Fratellis, The Enemy, The Pigeon Detectives, et al...never did it for me. It was around that era that The Gaslight Anthem released The '59 Sound. Now there's a fucking band and album!
