seems like for anyone is a proper 1965 single. I know we heard the reviews that made morning son sound longer, but i'm really interested to hear how it ended up being 6 minutes.

Nice Finding. I was afraid that we would get 2 min songs like the Beatles, seeing that was 13 songs on the album. Thanks

Funny that Liam wrote the two longest songs on the album.

Wow the second side is so much longer than the first. The four longest are all in the last six songs.

obviously they should be more radio friendly being shorter, something Oasis were never too concerned about - even when you discount Be Here Now.
Andy said ages ago that the album was sounding more "Pop - Rock" than just "Rock" - he was right going from the snippets we had of the album ........ and The Beatles were masters at that!
It also fits in with the whole 50's/60's vibe that Beady Eye were going for.

I really hope For Anyone isn't too short. I have a feeling - as our forum reviewer, Dutch, pointed out - that it'll be a nice song, but nothing special as it's too short. Shame, as the 30 second preview had an epic ballad vibe to it.

I'm very excited about this album now - especially for The Morning Son.
Is it me, or is this the sort of album I wanted Oasis to make - i.e. the kitchen sink thrown at it.
Judging by the clips and the songs released, Beady Eye seem more musically interesting than late-Oasis - there's no sludgy guitars, they've expanded their musical pallette by having female backing singers, pianos, strings, wah wah guitar effects, etc. and they seem to be trying to fit in some epic tunes considering the length of Wigwam and The Morning Son. A lot of Oasis late stuff was just musically, erm, quite boring.
Whether they pull the songs off is another matter, but I admire the ambition shown. The music snobs might scoff at Beady Eye, but is there really anything wrong with good old fashioned rock n roll fun? I couldn't care less if this album isn't 'artistically challenging' - there's plenty of other bands that I can listen to that do that. Let's hope it's a good one.

If 'For Anyone' gets anywhere near 'Songbird' then I'll be very happy and plus a 2 min song gives variety added to 6 min tunes and all the rest in between.

They're both great great tunes yet short and sweet. Length doesn't have any bearing on the quality of a tune.

But some tunes you do wish they went on a bit longer. Another verse or maybe an instrumental break.

Exactly the only way lengths has a bearing on a song is spoling it by spoiling it by making it too long....we've already seen that with bring the light and world outside my room, both songs coudve been trimmed. Oasis suffered a lot from this In 50's and 60's everything had to be short = much better And songs like 'songbird' prove that point. You can always press repeat

In fact I would slot FLW in there for having a bit of unneeded length in my book. If a tune only has 2 minutes worth of ideas but it's padded out to 4 minutes and adds nothing new to the mix... then it can ruin my enjoyment of the song and pressing skip halfway through doesn't fix it for me.

3 minute pop songs aren't something oasis did much of, but i'm a huge supporter of it. Probably why i think brian wilson is a god. wouldn't it be nice is 2 and half minutes?? god only knows under 3??? CHRIST.
so for this reason, For Anyone is still the top of my list. Something that'll burn through real quick and i can keep hitting repeat on. no fat.

wtf is it with STOTEOTN being a "remix" ? that song was probably the one i was looking forward to the most. and it's only 2 minutes and some change? oh well... it might still be pretty killer but i now have my doubts.

9 Standing On The Edge Of The Noise (Three Blind Mice (Bigger Boys Remix)) 2:52
Probably just another potshot at Noel and the late-era Oasis practice of releasinh remixes as opposed to proper b-sides. Liam hated it, but Noel being Chief made all final decisions. Now that the big cat with his golden bell is gone, the "three blind mice" (Liam, Andy, Gem) can play freely and without a big, hungry old cat hanging around and ringing his own bell. They are "Big(ger) Boyz" and can very rightly handle themselves and make their own unique musical creations and decisions. You want rock 'n' roll, retro and new? Beady Eye has got it. You want the b-sides back? No worries Beady Eye has them. Hell, you even liked the remixes and want some of those too? It's all good, you don't need Noel or Oasis to release a "remix", and these big boys can give you all of that and more.
That's how I view it anyways. Just a way of saying "Hey Noel, you weren't God and we can do this ourselves, remixes b-sides or not!"
Noel is my favorite, and I'm eagerly awaiting his solo record a thousand times more over Beady Eye...but that's just how I am analyzing such an act by Liam.
