Liam in one of the interviews got to saying how Oasis sort of had a sound/style they had to stick to, and Beady Eye having a sense of freedom to go where they wanted.
Now I couldn't help but notice that this falls squarely at the feet of the fans. It's totally the fans fault for this. A lot of fans want "oasis" sounding songs, because they think they're better. Honestly, this probably one reason we got awful albums like Heathen Chemistry in the middle years there. And probably contributed to the break up cause it seemed they were all tired of the monotony. Noel definitely was.
A song that definitely falls in the new freedom is Bring the Light. A banging piano piece for some stupid reason wouldn't go on an "oasis" album. Because it's a really good tune. Better than some of the late 90s/200's singles for sure.
Some people were laughing at the Mojo reviewers who said it was the best song of the album. But BTL was well received by reviewers. I think the guardian, or one of them along those lines said BTL was better than anything on DOYS. And non-fans, but very much music fans, all dug it too.
I think that's the best thing about Beady Eye. Yeah some of it sounds the same. But songs like "for anyone"? with that string plucking guitar play, the guitar play on the morning son, a folky tune like millionaire, that one ribbed wood instrument you strike a stick across on wind up dream. None of that was kosher on an "oasis" record anymore.
It's not like anything can be done about fans set tastes. But I hope when Oasis do an album together again, they'll feel free to do whatever sound they feel like and not be pidgeon holed. And the fans better be ok with that shit.

Agree completely.
I think the sound is different and I'm happy about that.
In fact, I was driving home today with my wife and listening to an Oasis CD (she doesn't hate them but not a fan either) and she said to me..."I don't like this. Can we listen to Beady Eye instead?"

I think they also ment that they (Liam, Gem, Andy) have more freedom now since Noel used to choose what the album should sound like. I've recently heard a very good interview with Gem in which he says he wrote some songs for the album, but when Noel played his songs he wanted for the album Gem immidiately new his songs weren't going to fit in. It's from 3:48
