With Noel wanting Oasis to take a 5 year break after DOYS we'd have probably only had 12 new songs in 8 years (If you don't include remixes).
With Beady Eye we are getting singles released before the album with b-sides and if they release an album within the next year or tow after this one, like i expect them to, we could be looking at 30+ songs in the space of a couple of years.
Add that to Noel's solo album (If he can be arsed) then its all good times. Whoever said the Oasis break up was a bad thing?

yeh but it's a "new band", so it's only similar to Oasis when they started.
It's good though we're getting plenty to go on

Sounds like that was Noel's idea anyway. Probably holding back his songs

I believe this has all been posted before...did we really need another thread for it?
Yes, we will getting more music from 2 separate artists than we would have from one. Goes without saying, doesn't it?

It probably wouldn't have been something that would have continued on to the next album. They probably would have gone back traditional bsides. On the other hand BDI only seem to be putting 1 bside track on the singles. Oasis generally put @ least 2, didn't they? After 3 singles we will have only gotten 2 original B-sides...which isn't that many more than Oasis gave us on 3 singles during the DOYS era...just minus the half dozen remixes (some of which I really loved). If ever were a group of Oasis songs good for a remix DOYS was it.

I agree, the remixes take a lot of crap from people, but some were very good. It was fine anyway for that album. It wasn't going to replace bsides forever.

That said, I really hope BDI's bsides are available to download on itunes or wherever. I mean sticking one song on a 7" but no where else is just asking for people to download it illegally. It's really a win-win situation. If they're not going to go with the physical release CD single (R.I.P.) then thats the best idea I think.

but to be fair it doesnt really matter if someone downloads the bsides illegally as they're limited to 4000 copies, all of which sold out instantly so they've basically made all the money possible out of the bsides. unless they get included on an itunes package in the future but at that stage all the fans will have heard them anyways.
and about them only putting on one bside, is it possible to put more than one bside onto a 7"?

We got 14 new songs from the DOYS era (11 on the album, I Believe In All, Boy With The Blues and Swollen Hand Blues) compared to 16 from DBTT. Not THAT much of a difference really.

^^It was the way they were spread out. IBIA and BWTB, were given away at the begining as bonus tracks. I think if IBIA had been withheld and released as TSOTL b-side, and BWTB had been witheld for IOT, then I dont think there would've have been a large complaint.
I think it was the fact that almost all the bonus songs/b-sides were given out at the same time with the album. With exception of Swollen Hand Blues. If they had been spread out and sprinlked in with the reximes/atl. version of the songs, then I dont think some wouldve have complained as much. As a matter of fact those singles wouldve been amazing if it had been done like that.
I like a couple of the remixes and I like the atl. version. I think the TBWTL, remix is far better than the album version and I adore the WFR alt. version. And I also like The Turning atl version.
Like I said, I think a lot of it was timing. If spread out, there wouldnt have been as much uproar.
