Picture that The Beatles didn't write IK and All You Need Is Love
Rate The Roller objectively. No rip off shit into the equation.

The roller wouldn't exsist?? this. So how do you rate a song that doesn't exist..probably pretty low, huh. It'd be like that song of silence that people were trying to get on the radio @ Christmas in the UK.

8/10 is a very fair rating I think. Comes close to a 8.5/10, but objectively I went with an 8.

this is a wierd thread..
my question is. do you guys think the chorus sounds like instant karma too? like can you sing " we all shine on, like the moon and the stars and the sun" over the" they call me the Roller" part? was curious. cause we all know the verse is similar.

Doesnt really matter. It is what it is. If it were truely AMAZING, then I dont think people would give a shit that it was a rip off, but its not. The song really is a 7/10 at best, whether IK, exists or not.

The song really is a 7/10 at best, whether IK, exists or not. Nice to see people throwing around opinion as fact again. Actually what he said is a fact. Most people here love Don't Look Back in Anger and the opening piano is a rip off of Imagine by John Lennon. Most people here love Cigarettes and Alcohol but it's a rip off of Bang a Gong Get it On by TRex. Many people here don't like The Roller and it's still a rip off of IK. It's an 8/10 at best considering all the negative feedback. Most people recognize the thievery this song commits which should automatically knock this songs off a couple points.... Here's a lame analogy but please hear it out. Say you are in a dunk contest and you do a backwards dunk. You might get a 8/10 your first attempt. Second attempt you do the exact same move. You will automatically be given a LOWER SCORE! Same goes for music. Anyway that isn't what this topic is about. This is about if IK didn't exist. Quite honestly I would say a 7-7.5/10. Nonsense lyrics while the song goes relatively nowhere. Plus the chorus doesn't grab my attention. "Just call me the Roller?" Cringe-worthy... Plus there is no "We all shine on like the moon the stars and the sun" chorus. You can't really beat that....

Most people here love Cigarettes and Alcohol but it's a rip off of Bang a Gong Get it On by TRex... yeah, because that was a piano and guitar riff. not a melody, and not the same style of song. It's pretty bad if you think there's not a difference between don't look back in anger and the roller.

And judging by that last sentence it seems like you're attacking my intelligence. I know there is a difference between the two songs and how they borrowed from other bands. Cigarettes and Alcohol is a better example than Don't Look Back in Anger anyway.
