What are the similarities of TR with IK? Apart from the piano and drums I don't hear blatant similarities... It's driving me mad.....

The fact we are arguing over which song it rips most, shows the answer is NONE......its a mix of influences and spirit which all music is! GREAT SONG

"Who the fuck cares?" is the response I thought of before I even clicked the thread title. Seriously, does the fact that a song sounds like another really take enjoyment out of it for some people. If that's the case I think you're just thinking about it too much and need to just enjoy it for what it is.

i think the problem that can arise, and definitely arose for me during the first few listens. I was actually distracted by how much it sounded like those other songs.

If that's the case I think you're just thinking about it too much and need to just enjoy it for what it is. i think it does. It's hard to enjoy it as being a good song when it's blatantly from a different song. It loses it's merit as an original tune. I almost have to just disregard it. And i know this is pointless, seeing how much Noel has borrowed. But Noel never took from a huge song, and wherever he was inspired from, he generally put out a better song too. But, the roller is still decent. Just not original at all.

No offence, but Noel blatantly stole from Stevie Wonder's 'Uptight', T-Rex's 'Get It On', The New Seekers' 'I'd Like To Teach The World To Sing'... Noel is definitely guilty from stealing from famous, huge songs!

I'd had to that list "Roadhouse Blues" from The Doors --> the melody and even the lyrics are almost the same in Put Your Money Where...

Noel is definitely guilty from stealing from famous, huge songs! Uptight was for a b-side. T-Rex was the guitar riff, and i meant vocal melodies. Morning Glory does the same thing. The coca cola song is more on the line. But none of those are like this. The instruments are even the same on this song. At least all those songs you listed were in the style of Noel's writing. This is just a Lennon/Beatles style song that rips off a Lennon or Beatles song. And if you're gonna copy everything about a song, at least make it better. A lot of great bands take from other places. But they twist it up and make it their own. I don't really take issue with that. I don't think it's a bad song, i just can't give any props for it.

Uptight was for a b-side. Wrong. It was supposed be on the album, but was kept off due to the threat legal actions.

just one example
Enjoy the song for what it is. Would you enjoy it more if it were not similar with IK? So be it

The fact we are arguing over which song it rips most, shows the answer is NONE......its a mix of influences and spirit which all music is! GREAT SONG Haha nobody is arguing. Everyone knows it's a ripoff of both. Melody rips off AYNIL and instrumental rips off IK. You'd be an idiot to argue with that. Try replacing stealing with influences then you got it right.

Thank you I feel the same way. I don't reward mediocrity like some people on this forum. I expect the best out of my favorite musicians and this song is plain lazy.

I voted would the F*** cares.
A question about which it ripped off most is the stupidest question I have ever heard. Not because I don't think they ripped off the Beatles and Lennon...but how on earth are you supposed to say which was used more?
