Noel wrote 70-80% of his classic songs before the release of DM - I think he just tapped out the well early on, and was frustrated because of it.

Until now, I have no reason to buy DGSS. But it' not a problem, I have a lot of new (and old) albums to buy this year. Lady Gaga's i guess...

Seriously why bother posting in a Beady Eye forum, if your not a fan. You won't find me wasting my time in a fucking Radiohead forum. Each to their own though.

You are posting in the beady eye section. Just an observation, if you don't like it that's fair enough, but why waste your time trying to preach to the converted?

I use new topics button so I don't really check section. Someone discussed the 5 year break suggested by NG so I replied : If I remember correctly, 5 years was the time for the next oasis album. Noel suggested that each member makes his solo album during this time and Liam told him to go fuck himself. LIke you see, it was not very beady eye until NL4E post

you can post wherever you like mate, who I am I to stop you...but I just dobt get the rationale in posting negative stuff about a band you dont like. There's more important stuff to worry about surely.
Anyway, hopefully Noel will get off talksport soon, and give us some of his solo stuff.

If I remember correctly, 5 years was the time for the next oasis album. Noel suggested that each member makes his solo album during this time and Liam told him to go fuck himself. Going off of recent releasing patterns, Oasis would be gearing up (seriously, no pun intended) for their 8th album release now. It really is ashame that they aren't, but at least we got DGSS to look forward to - things could have been much more barren and thus much more worse It's MUCH better that we're not waiting for an Oasis release. Give me the new Beady Eye release any day of the week. They sound energised, refreshed - everything the last couple of Oasis albums weren't.

I'm just excited that this community has continued to grow. It's always been said that supporting Oasis is like supporting your favorite football team and that is true. Like Beady Eye or not everyone has an opinion and continues to log onto Live4Ever for a reason and that is to share our appreciation for the best band of all time and now to appreciate the offshoots. Liam and Noel are the greatest rock stars of all time and it's lovely to see so many people standing behind them and anxiously awaiting t find out what's next. Cheers.

Best thing about BDI for me is the fact that they all fully contributing. I like the fact that they all stand together to rise or fall together. The Gallagher's had a habit of dividing blame. I like that Liam and co. are doing things like sharing writing credits, doing interviews all together. That is a true single unit instead of the weird semi-independent thing that Oasis was doing towards the end. Everyone operating independently but within the confines of the band...it was weird.

DOYS was their most rock n roll album since DM. The energy was all there. Plus the songwriting of Noel and Liam was getting progressively better. We'll see how DGSS turns out though.

No matter how good DGSS may be, and no matter how much I may like it; I will always yearn for Oasis. I'm repeating myself several times over, but Oasis transcended their great musical output. That's what makes them special, imo.

I don't think the problem was recording and releasing the albums, it was the touring that went with it. Touring was by far the biggest money spinner for them, but 12 months of non-stop touring the world away from your family is bound to burn you out. Especially when you play the same songs in the same order night after night.
You could argue it was their greed that was their own downfall, although I think we would have all done the same. At least with Beady Eye they don't have the fanbase to sell out around the world, so they'll be more fresh after smaller tours.

^ That's a good point. Oasis never strayed from the same basic set list (only occasionally swapping a song or two out, and making room for songs from the new album) whereas acts like Bruce Springsteen shake things up all the time. And if you go see him, he's having as much fun as ever. But Oasis definitely was a stilted live band.

I do admire BE's work ethic and I think its show strong feelings towards their own band. Sadly I'am not really feeling their stuff at the moment. It's good among us Oasis fans but outside no one cares and why should they? None of the material grabs you by the ears and pulls you in.
Not saying any of the songs we heard are bad
