Some thoughts on DGSP: - First the negative side: lyrics are so so. Too much repeating, too much na na's, dreams, coming in and out, shalala's and aaahhh's. Some fillers/skippers, but for me only three i think, which is not bad out of 13. - Then the positive side(s): melodies. The albums is full of it and there's loads of different ones within some songs. Specially on the - i think - Liam songs. Wigwam for instance has 3 different parts (we've heard the first part), like BOADC and GGTIA, but now they do seem to merge together to something very special, instead of being some nice separate melodies combined in a song. - Overall sound: it's very, very, very Beatles. But somehow it sounds like they're not copying a sound, they are the sound. It's in Andy's, Gem's and Liam's blood and they can't help it. To me it felt like that. - Beat Goes On is an instant classic, 100% sure. There's only one negative thing to say about it, and that is that some people may find the chorus a little bit corny, lyric-wise. We Are The World-kinda-corny. But as a part of the whole song (with a lovely, lovely na-na-part) it fits. And when Liam sings it, it somehow isn't as corny as it would normally be. Heard the song 3 times and loved every little second of it. Shivers down the spine stuff. BTW: intro reminded me of the KTDA intro. - Wigwam is just a little behind, but maybe not after a few more listens. As i said: divided in 3 different parts, with a drum pause after the first 2, sounding as if the song is fading out, but then coming back in with two lines repeated over and over in an amazingly dreamy, psychelic feel. - Kill For A Dream: the 30 sec's sounded like a big chorus was coming, but the chorus wasn't that big. As in: no put-your-arm-around-your-drunk-mate-and-scream-along-big. It was actually soft and sweet, in a good way. I actually liked the fact that there were no huge dadrock choruses on the album. It was more subtle. - Three Ring Circus has very cool guitar solo/parts/riffs (not just the one riff we heard) and it 100 times better than Nature of Reality.
Overall rating after 2/3 listens i would say 8,5/10. Very impressed with what they've pulled of without Noel.

Cheers fella, great to read that.
Like the sound of the end of Wigwam (Really like the endings of Slide away and even Roll with it). Cant wait to hear the beat goes on.
Quite happy the album sounds like the Beatles , thought that would be the case but was nervous after Bring the Light thinking Liam might have gone 1950's on us !
Anyway cheers for the above

pretty weak patience-wise aren't you?....anyway thanks for the review and i can't believe that some people in here thought that ''the morning son'', could compare in any way with ''let it be''......glad to hear that the sound is beatlesque,i hope the band wan't get buried (critically-wise) for it.
The thing that annoys me just a little bit,is the fact that they didn't cover up liam's voice with more reverb....it get's a bit annoying in places...i thing he sounded better on DOYS....

Thanks a lot for the review, is there anything else you can tell us, for example how long is each song?

I am weak, i know. But it's no fun keeping enthusiams for yourself, if u know what i mean.
Morning Son was actually better then i expected with the 30 sec's clip. Drums kick in, in the second part, and they make it much better.
BTW: there's also a choir in one of the songs!

Thank you for the review. Can you tell us anything about any of the other songs? Particularly interested in For Anyone?

Is it better than Heathen Chemistry, at least?

Better dan HC? YES! By a mile. Altough Songbird and SCYHO are classics. But there were some dreadful songs on their which just dont fit my vibe and are too easy for me. Little by Little, HIABP, Andy's one which while typing i can't even remember the name of ;-) Other then that: comparing is useless. You need to hear it more often for that. Even now it may be that i'm over-excited cause of the first listens. Can't say. But i sure wasn't dissapointed and cannot wait to hear the album again. Probably be about a month away i guess, so it's just as hard for me now waiting

So I could put your rating in more context to my own tastes...what are your rating of BTL, FLW, TR.
I am just curious to see how much your opinions correlate to mine...not saying mine is right or anything. (to stop anyone jumping on me about everyones opinion being valid)

I don't ''kiss and tell'',so no i don't know....you didn't spoil it for me because i knew what to expect in general.....now noel's album is a different story...you want see me anywhere near a review before that record, because simply noel is in a different league and i think he is capable of delivering a 9/10 album,so i will not want to spoil it..even if he doesn't,i want to be suprised..... Also i hope that ''for anyone'' and ''wind up dream'',are as beatlesque as the clips.....
