We all know this song is going to be on the album, and by the way am I the only one who likes it? It never gets a mention but I absolutely loved the sound of it in the previews!
Anyway, according to Wikipedia (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Standing_on_the_Edge_of_the_Noise) 'Standing on the Edge of the Noise' was a 'one-off' show which actually took place in their studios in the DOYS era.
Now I'm going to question why L/A/G would name the song after that? Especially considering that they're trying not to be another Oasis? Anyone have thoughts on this?

No man, it also was one of my favourites. Too bad it really reminds me of "get back" by the Beatles; but I hope the heavier sound will elevate it to another level. It's going to be massive live, that's for sure!!!

yeah brother you're not alone on this one, I dig it! I love how Liam just lets rip on it.
I think this tune was demoed for DOYS, and because it has a hectic name they just slapped it on that Live performance. Chillin.

It could be the surprise of the album, I know all of the 30 second clips are effected by the poor sound quality but because the production is so raw on this song, the clip gets effected the most. I think a good quality version is gonna sound mega.

Standing On The Edge Of The Noise was the "rehearsal gig" of the DOYS tour. Broadcasted on BBC (or MTV?). Probably the best Oasis gig video from the 00s.

standing on the edge of the noise was prob my fave clip of all the songs! glad someone else seems to like it. i like the fact its loud and stompy- a bit like slade.
i was suprised to here everyone banging on about the for anyone clip cos i don think it was the best. i'm not saying it isnt gonna be a good song, just that the clip didnt do i for me. i think people are just saying how good the for anyone clip was because it was reported that this was the best song liam has wrote and were jumping on the band wagon.

I am 99.9% certain that Noel said Standing on the Edge of the Noise was originally going to be the title of what turned out to be Dig Out Your Soul. It was probably left off that album eventually.

love the clip, hopefully the song is a big more expansive than some of liams effort and its not just a verse/chorus/repeat verse/repeat chorus job.

The clip sounds so messy. And it has the unfortunate vibe of PYWMWMI for me, which only brings bad thoughts. I was surprised how The Roller developed as I was indifferent to those 30 seconds, so hopefully SOTEOTN will deliver, too. Time will tell, but I'm not yet on board for that one.

I hope I'm proved wrong, though.
