I have loads, loads of bootlegs (especially Oasis, The Smiths, The Jam and Weller) and I have downloaded them all, never bought any bootlegs.

i buy used cd's. i like reading the booklets and being able to use them in an old car. it's the same music for a hell of a lot cheaper.
(they usually replace the cd's i previously downloaded, btw.)

I do, but I make sure I buy something by the band if it's a new band. If it's an obscure band from the '70s...well, sometimes I buy, but I tend to download stuff like that.

Illegally downloaded music, excluding music I downloaded before eventually buying, accounts for roughly 20-25% of my music library.
But, for the most part, I'm like NYR. I buy used CDs.

some of the more obscure stuff i want to buy tends to be out of print, so i tend to download that stuff... but for the most part, i only download live bootlegs nowadays

(but i could be wrong) EDIT: audiogalaxy was the place where i downloaded the 'leaked' heathen chemistry, the one with the slightly different track order/mixes, and clicks ;D

^ In past (mayb 10 years ago?) I used winmix a lot, then soulseek before the torrent. Back in 2004 - 2005, many members on here were on soulseek for sharing bootlegs, but I don't think many of us are still there as I'm not on there anymore too. I do donwload loads of bootlegs, but nothing makes you feel like a kid waiting for his/her birthday present when you're waiting for the release date of a new album.
