Is it common to a band that has no albums released being booked right after the main act, on the main stage? www.isleofwightfestival.com/lineup.aspxI would understand is it was in a minor stage, but the festival organizers are risking a lot and putting their hands on the fire for them. Maybe it's just because of the "gallagher" trademark. Thoughts?

Oasis and Kasabian fans always had a lot of crossover. So a lot of people wanting to see Kasabian headline would be interested in hearing Beady Eye and what they came up with. Pretty safe play by the orginisers in putting them in that slot imo

It is definitely because there is a Gallagher involved. But who cares. BDI is going to get a lot of perks because they are the the remnants of one of the biggest bands in UK history. Big shock.

Yeah definitely, its not like any other new band about to release their debut album. They wouldnt put, say, The Sand Band in that slot

It could go either way. Noel really loves his songs. I could imagine him doing DLBIA or TIOBI for an encore...maybe Falling Down. I hope he doesn't for the first tour though. I hope we get a good number of tunes on the album and good number of B-sides like what Liam is doing. I think Liam has been very smart in establishing the new project with an identity of it's own before letting the spectre of Oasis back in with too much force. I was being ab bit facetious about Noel headlining though. Noel wouldn't headline a festival. He can do those acoustic tours briliantly because he sounds great doing the Oasis tunes, even Liam sung ones, acoustic...but you'd miss Liam too much if they were done big, loud, and electric. I think the first time Noel does a festival he'll be in an acoustic tent by choice. But I am saying that not know what his album is going to sound like... Wouldn't it be crazy if BDI's album was mostly acoustic and Noel's album was full hardcore electric.

From BE website -
Beady Eye are very pleased to announce they will be playing 2011's Isle Of Wight Festival. The festival - whose illustrious history includes headliners such as band favourites Jimi Hendrix, Bob Dylan, Neil Young and Paul Weller - takes place over the weekend of June 10th-12th.
Beady Eye will be playing Sunday 12th before Kasabian's headline slot.
I cant get the isle of white link to open, so not sure if they state different?
Beady Eye as the penultimate act!

He would suit somewhere like Hop Farm Festival.

Beady Eye before Kasabian, I bet Tom and Serge are chuffed to bits over that. Good for 'em though, they worked for that spot and now life has come full circle.

The line up for their day isn't very good, is it? I guess Two Door Cinema Club are alright, but the rest? Blech. Unless Jeff Beck is playing on the same stage too, some redemption there. Saturday is looking good though, Iggy into Pulp into The Foos? Awesome, though I'd still argue to put Pulp over The Foos. Beady Eye before Kasabian, I bet Tom and Serge are chuffed to bits over that.
