Yeah, it's an interview with Liam and Gem. Gem says there's a bit of Brian Jones-era Stones, a bit of Elvis. It's psychedelic like 'when the Kinks were slightly psychedelic'. Liam says it's not soppy ballad shit. Says Sons of The Stage was the first thing they did and they rehearsed We Love You by the Stones. The name says the name 'is just 'keep an eye out on the fucking fuckwits' isn't it?'
Liam: 'And a couple of little vaginas moaning on the internet going, 'Oh, it isn't fucking Oasis,' aren't going to bother me. They're going to make themselves fucking sick if they don't get over it. It's like wanting to get your girlfriend back after she's fucked you off. You'll end up getting yourself ill. They're not going to get me knocking on someone's door saying, Come on let's get back together. It's done, mate. We had a great time. Beady Eye is where we are now. We're just rehearsing like fuck. Get rid of all the Oasis songs and just bathe ourselves in Beady Eye.

Now I know where are the knob-head attitude of " The only reason that people could possibly not think BDI are wonderful is because they want them to be Oasis" comes from.
They are all mimicking Liam's attitude.
I hope that Liam doesn't get hung up on that. His "I don't care if you like it" attitude is great but I'd find that kind of talk as annoying coming from Liam as I am annoyed when it comes from anyone on the board.

Nice to get another insight and hear that the first thing they did was SOTS, not hugely surprising it was the b-side to their first ever release. Bring on the album, just 6 weeks now. |

I think you're right. I was thinking a bit about the NME interview where the journalist said that the album is something like 'familiar but often surprising' and he kind'v hinted to the fact the songs are Oasis-like with added psychadelica and 'surprising' moments. In the 30 seconds we've heard of each track so far there are very few surprising moments, so I'm of the mindset that the rest of the songs are going to contain some good (imo) psychadelic moments with very good quality musicianship. IMO - Beady Eye - Oasis with better musicians and worse songwriters. |
