dunno if the roller will be a single, I just have a feeling that they made a mistake and could be sons of stage? Surely we would have heard something such as airplay on radio by now for the roller? It may not be a single (although I think it is gonna be)...but I am puzzled by why you would think that they would release SOTS as a single... Have you been hearing Sons of the Stage anywhere around on radio or something? Why would they have already released their a single as a B-side on a previous promo/single? Why would they present a cover as their first proper single? And if it was...why would that song not be on the album that the presumably the single would be trying to create hype for? You are right that we should be hearing something soon though. But they may be debuting the song and the video together though. you are a fucking lunatic. |

I would guess that the single will be released February 7th or 14th. Oasis usually did it 1 week before the album but I feel this may need to enter the charts a bit sooner to gain more attention for the band  |

If the Four Letter Word vinyl is being sent out on the 17th of January and the video for The Roller on the 10th / 11th of January then the first two weeks of February makes sense for an actual proper single release. I'm interested in how the formats will work for a Beady Eye single. Will it be CD, vinyl and digital releases with different b-sides for each format and also what kind of b-sides will it be. The Oasis digital singles for example had demo versions, as did the old DVD singles but I don't think we'll get that format, and as no gigs have been played there won't be a live song unless they do an acoustic or radio session and put that out. I also had a wee look at CD Japan, album is out on the 23rd there, but the bonus track hasn't been confirmed as yet. |

Of course The Roller is the first single, the others were just to get the name out there and get people talking about them, hence the promo videos of them just singing the tunes 'live'.
As for saying Sons of the stage should be the first single, how stupid is that ? Yeah a new band with Liam and the first single is a cover of a late 80's tune ?
Looking forward to the video for the Roller and hopefully the odd interview on various TV shows etc.

This is all one big miscommunication. Mad4it never suggested that SOTS was the single, should be, or could be the single. I think gdforever simply misunderstood him (but wasn't being nasty about it)
I think Mad4it was saying that he thinks Channel 4 made a mistake by saying it was the Roller but they were just playing the SOTS video (but not that SOTS was the single).

I thought we were all operating under the understand that this was a single they were debuting. Channel 4 stated it was their debut video meaning proper single to me since they aren't counting FLW or BTL. Just checked the blurb and they said it's "a track off their new album" so it can't be SOTS. I suppose it could always be a proper release for FLW or BTL though. But then it would be an exclusive since they've been on YouTube for weeks. But then regurgitating stuff that Noel said in unrelated interviews was regularly called an NME exclusive...so who knows. |

No Doubt this will all be cleared up on the Zane Lowe interview on Friday. Also confirmation on the date.
Until then I assume The Roller to be the single & therefore have a video exclusive on Ch4.
